Best kitchen gadget in a while
This is one of the best kitchen utensils I have purchased in years. Works super well and helps break apart the meat much easier than a spatula or other alternatives.

Just what I was looking for !
First off - I am a Lazy Cook, and I am always looking for an easier way to do a task. I have been breaking up packs of ground beef while cooking it to make chili, spaghetti sauce, and various other dishes for a VERY LONGGGG TIME - and have always used a spatula or spoon, like almost everyone else. My wife and daughter went to a Pampered Chef Party recently where they saw a chopping tool designed to break up ground beef in a skillet. Sounded good to me - until I heard the price !!!! I did a search at Amazon to see if I could purchase one cheaper there. Did I mention I am also Frugal. It was some cheaper, but still no bargain - BUT another chopping tool, the ChopStir Nylon Chopper caught my eye in the suggestions. I figured for $7.00 I couldn't go wrong.I am very glad I spent the money. This tool is great for breaking up blocks of ground beef in a pan or skillet. It probably has other uses but for me this alone makes it worth every penny. I have never used the Pampered Chef Mix N Chop, but as another reviewer pointed out, the center area of the four 90 degree blades seem to be easier to clean than the five swirled blades on the Pampered Chef tool because the 5 blades form tighter angles.Bottom Line: This ChopStir works great, is easy to use, and cleans up easily in the dishwasher without any special attention. At $7.00 the price is right, and the white one is even 7¢ cheaper! :-)

ChopStir Tool
I am impressed with this kitchen tool. It really helps in breaking up hamburger into smaller pieces. Great helper for older cooks.

Works like expected
I didn't know something like this existed until I saw a PC version of this. The PC version is too expensive for a kitchen gadget that is a nice-to-have rather than a need-to-have. So, I searched Amazon and found this one. It works well in breaking down the ground meat to crumbles (as it should be) while cooking, and it cleans easily too. I only hand wash this, so can't attest to how clean it comes out in the dishwasher. This also works well in making guacamole and egg salad. It says that it is high in heat resistance, but haven't left it sitting in the pan or up against the pan long enough to know (it also states in the description not to leave the tool in a hot pan). My impression is that it would melt if left in the high heat. Overall, I'm pleased with the purchase and especially pleased with the price. Definitely recommend if you cook lots of ground meat!

It does indeed chop.
It chops well and cleans up quickly with a few swipes of a kitchen brush (I can't fathom how other reviewers find it hard to clean). Despite my 5-star rating, I wouldn't get this in addition to a good spatula unless you frequently cook ground meats. I do so 1-2 times a week and sometimes more often, and I use this for all those occasions so I think it's worth it.It is sturdy and has no annoying injection molding seams to trim off. The handle isn't rubber-coated but that means there's no gap to collect grime. It does have a raised texture, though, so I've yet to drop it even during hand-washing.It chops ground meats well in a straight-sided saute pan and a quick tap on the pan removes any uncooked meat. It's a bit awkward as a stirring device, but I just toss the meat around in the pan so this isn't a flaw for me.I've used it to chop 1/4 to 2 pound lots of various ground meats to finenesses varying from about 1/2 inch (with about a minute of effort) all the way down to 1/8 inch and a bit smaller (with 2-4 minutes). I've chopped tomatoes and translucent onions with it but I find it's usually better to prepare veggies correctly before they hit the pan. I've also stirred zuppa toscana with it because I was already using it to chop sausage. It works just fine for that, but I wouldn't reach for it over a spoon or ladle if it wasn't already in use. No more dirty utensils than necessary, I say.

Quick way to stab the business right out of your meat
I ordered this despite some of the negative reviews. My only comment is this - don't use it on raw burger. Smash a pound or 2 of burger down in your skillet and cook for a couple minutes - flip it and cook the other side a couple minutes - then use a chopper. If you are just smashing it into raw burger - you are only mixing it and making it more mushy. Once the meat is a little cooked it chops up quick and easy. Much faster than a spatula. I have used the OXO brand and some other ? brand - they all work the same. I give a little 1/8 turn at the end of the chop to separate thick or large pieces. And whoever complains about not being able to leave a plastic utensil in the pan while you are cooking without it melting ....... um..DUH. Not so sure the people that complain about it melting when left in the pan should be around the stove anyway. It is a utensil, you know for using... not a seasoning. Do you normally leave all your utensils in the pan? I have used this one a few times now - breakfast sausage I browned a little on both sides and chopped up for breakfast burritos, and burger a couple times for spaghetti and as long as you brown the meat a couple minutes it works fast and great. I have thrown it through the dishwasher every time and no issues there either. Some extra advice for those inclined to cook this chopper - don't. Once you have chopped - you are done with this particular tool. This is the time to find some other tool, such as a wooden spoon and test its melting point.

Works amazingly well!
I bought 2 - one for my Mom's Christmas stocking, and one for me. I've heard that these break up ground meat well and I've grown tired of using a spatula/wooden spoon. I haven't given it to my Mom yet as Christmas is still over a month away but I've used mine. This thing was great!! I broke up the ground beef extremely well (even partially frozen) and it is dishwasher safe so I was able to put it into the dishwasher without any problems. I've never used anything that broke up ground beef into small pieces as well as this did. I'm sure you could find an equivalent product for cheaper, but even being a little expensive for what it is, I would definitely recommend this product.

Fabulous kitchen utensils
Brilliant little utensil which should be in every kitchen! Fantastic for chopping mince in the pan (I can't stand big lumps), but also useful for mashing, stirring and making pastry!
