Love That Lasts For Men (12 Essential Ways Workbooks)

I purchased these books for myself and my husband- I really like the topics, and the personal stories that are so relate-able. They are strongly Christian based, which we love. However, there are a few things that I'm not completely happy with.1. The Video series is a HUGE part of this book. They are a part of every single couple's discussion section, and there are a few pages in each section to reflect on the videos. We did NOT purchase the videos, and really feel like we're missing out on a big part of the book, but the price tag of these 2 books was enough for me, I didn't want to spend more on some videos. If you combine the cost of the 2 books and videos, it's a pretty hefty price for something like this. There are much cheaper options out there that are just as helpful for relationship building. I wish I had known that these were such an integral part of the experience before I decided to purchase these books.2. The typo's. Maybe that's just the grammar nazi in me, but these drive me crazy. There have been multiple typos in each section, and I don't just mean a word misspelling, although those are pretty frequent too. There is an obvious lack of proofreading. I had 2 pages in a single section that had some sort of misprint between pages. The page would end in the middle of the sentence, and the next page would start a completely new paragraph. The rest of the missing sentence never picked up anywhere. This is just sloppy in my opinion and could have easily been caught with a quick review.

Very disappointed in this book and its pair. The questions were basic, I would expect this maybe to be more helpful for a brand new married couple. Even still there were enough grammar errors and repeated questions that it was frustrating to work through. Without buying the video series a lot of the text material didn't make sense because it would reference it. The books just seemed like they were rushed through and not a whole lot of thought or care was put into them. Me and my wife got halfway through it and just decided to stop and find another book.

I was so blessed to receive an advanced reader copy of the book Love that Lasts not the workbook from the publisher and I am so happy I did. This book was such an easy read! I didn't want to put it down. I love how real and deep Jeff and Alyssa got. They were not afraid to share real things they went through on heir path to love and marriage. I felt like I knew them by the end of the book. It was so incredible how authentic they got with their audience. It was a perfect book especially for the season of life I am in. They offered many new perspectives I didn't already have. They encouraged me in my relationship that I'm in now. It's a great read for single, dating, engaged or married folks. I definitely recommend it!

Writing this review on behalf of my boyfriend and our journey together with these workbooks!!I was so excited to get these books along with the video series. I talked about it for weeks before I finally just got them. After just the first video and first chapter, it's now my boyfriend who is overly eager about this entire experience! He wanted to binge watch every single video and do the workbooks all in one day!!! It's been a huge help in our relationship to have us both interacting and digging deep into a broad range of topics!

I did not get this book but my husband did, and it's just one of the most amazing transformations to watch. For us to be separately drawn together and transformed into the exact purpose of these books is amazing. I can't rave enough about how much I love these books and love this couple!!

We just received these books and are so excited to start them. There is info for a variety of topics as well as applications and activities. We love doing anything that is going to help our marriage especially when there are practical applications. It is a great way to be intentional about growing closer to your spouse as well as keeping Christ at the center. Also excited to download the videos that are recommended in each section as well!
