The picture itself is adorable. It comes framed, with suitable hardware, two very small detail brushes and paint. The paint colors provided are adequate but the colors are VERY off. The background is a garish salmon color and the majority of the deer's coat is orange as shown in the picture I've attached. You'll also notice that colors 3 through 5 are almost the same color. Three different shades of white! The dark bow in the picture is to be painted with pod 6. Nothing dark about it, it's actually a baby blue... Here's to hoping my high school art classes pay off - I'm going to have to mix my own colors to save the picture.

The product listed shows wonderful color saturation of paint application (image on left) with subtle color shift for depth of the deer portrait. The product that I received (image on the right) did not match the product shown. The colors of paint provided could not be uses to create the colors shown in the product example ie: yellow is not included (a primary color). In addition, there was an insufficient amount of paint provided to paint the entire canvas. I would not recommend this product, especially as a gift, the recipient would be disappointed.

This is cute, my daughter enjoyed painting it but she was very disappointed when it wasn’t the same as the design she chose. The paint colors and numbers do not get you the detailed deer shown on the advertised picture.

By adding a few extra supplies (plastic paint palettes, extra brushes, some additional colors of oil paint) you can do amazing things with these little paint by number kits. We got the same simple kits for everyone but our finished paintings were all different and wonderful. Use your imagination and try different colors for the hat or the fur! Cleanup was pretty easy (and thorough) with Dawn dish foam and paper towels.....but be careful with your finished work. It takes a few days for the paint on the pictures to dry completely. If you see something you want to change, after it dries you can repaint over any mistakes.

The product was received timely and appears to be intact and complete. However, the instructions are all in Chinese! No English whatsoever. We will have to monitor our 4-year-old's use of this paint very carefully, since the on-line English description states it is oil paint, and we can't read any safety instructions. We can only hope all the pieces are included since we can't read for inventory, either. Thank goodness we can read the numbers--it looks like it will be a very nice art piece for her.

The paint is not like it is in the picture. I ended up adding more colors to make it look like it was supposed and am happy with the result but I did not follow the numbers exactly. I also mixed some of the colors to make one that matched more closely to the picture here. It’s a cute, simple project but just alittle disappointing that it’s not quite right.

It’s super cute and easy for a young child to do by herself.
