Budget alternative to pro NanLite tubes.
Budget alternative to pro NanLite pixel tubes. Also Designed for hand-held light painting but can be used as a traditional light tube. App controlled (basic operation can also be done through tiny buttons on the handle end. Issues: Expect to buy skinny 1/4-20 mounted hardware and long right angle usb c cable as the bottom of handle contains all the buttons, usb c Jack AND 1/4-20 threads. Very cramped. It took me a few tries to find the right combo of accessories. I love Nanlite’s gear but this design is problematic. Also battery life is only about an hour. All these shortcomings have work arounds. At the end of the day- the very reasonable cost outweighs the inconvenience of the design.

Haven't actually been able to deploy it yet, but...
...this looks to have solved one of the issues I have with the full-sized tubes, and that is that half the circumference of the tube is non-light emitting. And that's fine, if you need more control of the light, but if you have a use for a larger spread both front and back, these look like they'll do the job quite nicely. They're also stunningly light weight, which will make potential light painting with them much easier to accomplish. If I had a negative at all, it's that some features aren't accessible without connecting it to the app (the pixel effects most notably). I dislike the organization within the app and have thus far mostly avoided using it. Not to mention that if the app is ever retired or broken, part of your purchase is now also retired or broken. I can't imagine adding a fourth button or an extra click sequence of the already-existing buttons would've tacked on that much weight or expense. So, taking a star off for that.

acutualy brighter than I thought it would be
Positive things:- It has all the functions you expect with an rgb light at a lower prize.- Even it is only 8w, it is brighter enought to use it for som effects when filming- In person you can see the pixels, but in camera the light is even.- Light weight (depends on how you see it, can be a negative because it's all plastic and looks fragile)- Easy and simple to useNegative:- It looks fragile, and doesn't come with any case to protect it, but this compensates whith its prize.

Poorly Designed
Seems like a very good light for the price, but it's a horrible design. I bought the recommended stand which mounts at the same end of the light where all the controls are. So, you can't run the light while in the stand AND plug it in. The battery has a very short life, so yes thats a big deal. If that wan't bad enough, once it's attached in the stand, you can't access any of the controls. From what I can tell so far, it is not bluetooth enabled so there is no remote control support. Who designed this thing???

Lots of options BUT...
...they've put all the physical controls on the bottom of the handle so as soon as you rig it up you can no longer access them. There are many options to control the lights from an app but you cannot switch the light on and off, only put it in or bring it out of standby. Worst, you cannot run it off the mains and since it's such a small battery (less than one hour at max power) once the battery is dead you can no longer use the light. Bad design!

Pensaba que por ser de las más baratas del Mercado casi no iba a brillar, pero la verdad es bastante brillanteMuy recomendable

Poca potencia
Muy poca potencia. Como curiosidad no está mal, pero es caro para lo que ilumina...
