Overpriced but good quality
How can 10 cents worth of elastomer cost 20 bucks? Well, I'm sure it has to do with the engineering of creating the right pressure rating for each piece. I ran my original elastomers for 5 years and they had hardened to the point where they didn't offer proper suspension. I love the stem and was willing to pony up the price to keep using it. I also use the seatpost from the same manufacturer- it's uses a steel spring and will probably hold up longer than I will. Both stem and seatpost are mounted on my touring bike and provide comfortable riding for long days in the saddle. Probably not for weight wienies but the biggest weight problem on my bike is the rider.

Great to have spares.
All 3 of my bikes have a Redshift stem on them. I like to keep extra pads on hand just in case they're needed. I also experiment with these on the bike as they for different types of riding.
