COLOR WOW Root Cover Up – Temporary Hair Color Touch-Up

This product is AMAZING!! The best to touch up my roots, does not leave a gunky residue like the sprays do, instant coverage, and I have a lot of gray roots that grow in! 10/10

If you’re on the fence, it’s a must-buy! This was the first root cover-up product I ever tried, and I liked it so much that I completely used up the generous amount of powder and immediately ordered another.A little goes a long way—I had my first container for over two years before needing to replace it. The powder is fragrance-free, making it a great choice if you’re sensitive to scents. It isn’t sticky, doesn’t transfer onto clothing or pillowcases, and still washes out easily when you’re ready.I also love the long, dual-sided brush. It’s comfortable to hold, makes application easy, and helps blend the powder naturally. Overall, it’s an effective, mess-free root touch-up that has become a staple in my routine.

I'm Jim's wife, not Jim. :) I have a few random grays throughout my dark brown hair, but my main problems are at my temples and one streak in my bangs. Well, it would be a streak, but I won't allow that to happen. Because I don't have a huge problem with the gray, and because, when I do get my hair done I'm only matching my natural color, I don't want to go more often than I need. It feels ridiculous to go and spend all that time and money on color when I just have a couple problem areas. At the same time, I am SO self-conscious about my gray that I can't just leave it alone either! Hence, my decision to try this out.It's been over 2 months since I went to the salon. I purchased this to tide me over until the next trip. Overall, I'm really happy with it! I use the small end to apply the powder to my problem areas. It shade the skin underneath the hair (which I guess is why some people use it to make their thinning hair look fuller) and it also coats the strands with color. It doesn't make the gray hair as dark as the others, but it darkens it enough so that it blends in naturally. I was thrilled!Apparently, it's supposed to last until the next shampooing. I didn't find this to be true at all. I'll apply it in the morning before work, and if I'm heading out at night I might touch it up again. I'll definitely need to apply it again the next morning.An irritating side effect is that the powder gets under my nails and makes me look like a serial gardener. This is probably because I'm habitually running my fingers through my hair. It washed out fairy easily, but it was another thing for me to be self-conscious about! Anyway, my solution was to keep my fingernails painted. :)All in all, four stars! The missing star is due to the fact that it needs reapplication fairly frequently and it sticks under my fingernails. But all in all, I'm thrilled!

I've been using this product for several years. It does hold better if the hair is damp and I've even started using it to fill in my thinning brows although I couldn't say it is recommended for that use.

Ordering this Color Wow root-touch up was my first time trying a powder instead of a spray, and I was dubious, but wow, consider me a convert. I’m 47 and I get my roots touched up every 4-6 weeks but these days the appointments can’t come fast enough—I have naturally dark brown fair and the copious silver-white I have in front just starts showing back up so danged fast. I had been using L’Oréal root spray, but didn’t like how it ran and streaked or how hard it was to attain eceb coverage with the spray. This Color Wow powder doesn’t leave half the mess—even with a little fall-out, it’s just so much easier to avoid leaving too much on the scalp. It kind of magically clings to grey hair so I don’t even have to feel like I need to spend a lot of time being hyper-precise. It seems to last well throughout the day and while it costs a good deal more than the type of root spray I was purchasing, I can already tell it’s going to last much longer. This was a fortuitous purchase—I won’t switch back.

After reading so many great reviews, and seeing before/after pics, I decided to give this product a try. Although the price was steep (for eyeshadow sized powder), I figured if it truly works, it’ll be worth it. Plus, I needed quick coverage to take some photos. I have long dark brown hair & at the time my grays, which are more silvery/white, needed coverage of about an inch.WELL, I cannot begin to express how LONG (hrs) it took and how much I had to “blot” onto the same spot to “cover the gray” and just at the top where my roots were exposed from parted line!The “positive”: the powder eventually “covered” but that was after applying so much over and over to the same spots. Although, it never truly got to the “dark brown” … but it was basically a shade lighter so it kind of blended. Maybe it would’ve looked dark brown on someone with darker “pepper” grays vs lighter “salt” grays. 🤷🏻‍♀️NEGATIVES: you cannot touch your hair afterwards to fix, scratch, and definitely not to run fingers through (beware of a breeze)!! The loose powder on scalp transfers onto your fingers/hands (my fingers looked like I was prepping to be finger printed lol) and it also causes loose powder on scalp to find its way to your face! Trying to remove black powder falling on face after applying make-up and minutes before my photos…nightmare!! 👎 And I didn’t even apply my makeup until after I applied WOW to my roots just in case. Unfortunately, I only used this product once but it was too late for me to return it, so it was money wasted. That said, I figured I’d write my first ever review to hopefully save someone else time and money.

I am giving this three stars because first of all, it does not cover my gray very good. I don’t have a ton of gray, but when it starts to grow out at my roots, I just have a little bit of silvers that need covering. I have dipped the brush in the product several times just to get it to apply even 50% to a section of my hair that is about an inch long. At this rate, I’m going to use the entire thing in just a week. I started to return it, but then wondered how it might work filling in gaps on my eyebrows with the small end of the brush instead. So I tried that and it’s satisfactory and it will work nicely for that. But it is only three stars because it doesn’t work for me in the way that it’s meant to.

This is a perfect match for my hair and works great when I need to touch up my roots between coloring. The quality is excellent, and the color blends in naturally with the rest of my hair. I’m very happy with it.

Uso facile per il ritocco, specchietto grande e comodo

L'ho provato oggi per la prima volta e dire che sono entusiasta è dir poco. Motivo:1. a differenza degli spray usati finora, con un percentuale di spreco notevole, WOW l'ho messo esattamente dove si incominciava a vedere la ricrescita bianca, senza finire su orecchini o vestiti;2. colore perfetto e non era facile perché li ho tinti rosso rame (che si trova a fatica e la tonalità può differire con facilità);3. l'ho messo anche sulla pelle chiara nella scriminatura, che ha coperto, dando una sensazione di chioma più folta;4. mi sono bagnata con la pioggia imprevista: tornata a casa dopo qualche ora: colore PERFETTO.Ho letto tantissime descrizioni di prodotti e soprattutto recensioni; ero già abbastanza persuasa della qualità di WOW, ma ora posso aggiungere la conferma da parte mia, sono contentissima.

Es ist perfekt für grauen Ansätze, deckt schön und ich bin sehr zufrieden. Die Lieferung war auch sehr zügig.
