Nice digital thermometer.
I have used this a handful of times now and it seems to give an accurate reading. It is better than the three or so analog thermometers I have used over the years. I use it primarily for smoking meat where the internal temp is critical to a quality resulting meal. I guess I only have two critiques - 1. Wish it could read the temp faster. It can take a minute to get to the actual temperature reading. 2. I wish it would shut off after inactivity of a few minutes - I have forgotten to turn it off between taking readings and I am wondering how long it will last before the batteries die. Not even sure if I could get replacement batteries so this could be a problem if I forget again. All-in-all it works pretty good, is a nice small size so it fits well in a drawer, the display is nice a clear and it seems to be very accurate.

It works...but...
The thermometer works very well. It will give you the correct temp. But the read out is so small it is very hard to read, and around a low light grill, almost impossible. I stuck it into a steak and the grill was so hot that I just closed the grill lid for a few seconds and then opened up the grill to check the temp. But the plastic on the thermometer had almost melted away! Whats up with that?

Cooking thermometer like so many others
This thermometer is ok & has some positive features. First, button switches are tiny & almost have to be pushed with a fingernail. The dial reads in tenths of a degree and is not as large as picture would have one believe,. Have you ever seen a cooking guide that said cook to 155.4 degrees? Drop the tenths and make the read-out a bit larger. By the way, most thermometers read in tenths. I do like the button you push that holds the last temperature reading and it has an on/off button. Buttons do work - just could be larger. Of all the thermometers I looked at this one most met my needs.

Cooked to Perfection
I bought this as one of a few gifts for my boys to give my husband on Father's Day. My husband loves to barbecue, but it can be a challenge for him since every member of our family likes their meat cooked in a different way. Add to this the fact that my husband is disabled and in the past, had to carry the meat from the barbecue into the kitchen for me to cut it open and check for doneness. Now, that he has a digital thermometer, this is no longer the case. When my husband opened his gift, he was so excited that he passed on the offer to go out to dinner so he could fire up the grill. The cooking thermometer made it easy for him to check the meat for doneness at various intervals. (No more transporting the meat from the barbecue to the kitchen to cut open, check and carry back again!) It was also easy for him to check the thicker portions of the meat. Everyone's steak was cooked to perfection the first time around.Although I like my steak medium rare, like most moms, I'm a stickler when it comes to cooking chicken and pork properly. Using this thermometer ensures that fowl and white meat is cooked to the recommended temperature. The digital readout is easy on the eyes. Also, the ebook that comes with the purchase is full of great tips.

Not what I think of as "instant"
This does what is says but is almost unusable for me - depending on how far your meat/bread/whatever is from ambient temperature, it can take 15-20+ seconds to settle on a reading. That's too long to have the oven or grill open without dumping all your built up heat. I can't return as I foolishly threw away the packaging, but it looks like I will be saving my pennies to get the expensive ($100) 3 second Thermapen.I purchased through Magic Touch, and they have absolutely exemplary customer service.

Works but seems a bit expensive
Overall it does work except you have to make sure the heat coming from the flame around the meat is not messing up the reading. Have found that need to bring the meat to the edge of the grill so that the heat from the grill does not cause an invalid temperature reading. And honestly, the apparent quality seem more like the price should be around $10.

Perfect Little Thermometer for Grilling...
This is exactly what I was looking for...a thermometer to use when I grill out or use my smoker, especially for larger pieces of meat such as pork tenderloin or a Boston butt. It's not meant for leaving in the meat as you cook, but for checking the temp along the way...hopefully when you're done or near done. The digital readout works quickly and lets you know whether it's time to take the meat off the grill or if it needs to stay on just a bit more. (Remember to take off when it's just under the desired temp, because the meat will keep cooking some after it's taken off.)This thermometer has an encasement that the probe goes into which has a clip on it. This is great because it clips on my shorts pocket, but doesn't get them messy because of the case. Once you have one of these, it is indispensable! No more cutting into the meat testing for doneness--that lets all the juices out! Don't do it! Buy this instead. Highly recommended. Does exactly what it says it will do. Period.

For those who love barbecue
I am a Westerner. When I heard about this product I just had to have it. I bought it on Amazon and as a prime member it arrived in 2 days. I enjoyed the packaging because it was not only pleasant looking but also contained the necessary information to properly use this wonderful instrument. As soon as it arrived I jumped in my car and drove down to the local supermarket and bought myself a nice big thick juicy steak. I put it on the barbecue and inserted the tip down into the steak and was able to create the exact culinary experience that I was seeking. I am not a professional chef, but I do love to cook. This small handy thermometer is always going to be handy when I cook. I suspect that I am going to be a much better cook with the help of this delicate instrument. I will love to recommend it to my friends. One of the great joys in life is sharing the good things in life with the ones that you love.
