I deep fried my first batch. It's hard to not overcook these. I steamed the second batch for a few minutes and dipped in butter like lobster. Much better.

These are large shrimp (13 per lb), individually frozen, in two 2 1/2 lb. packages, shipped in a styrofoam cooler with ice packs. I'd been wanting to try Royal Reds for a some time. For my taste, they are as good as, but not better than, our local penaeid (pink, brown, white) shrimp. I was pleased that they are individually frozen because it allows me to take as many as I want from the freezer, leaving the rest frozen. They are in the shell, some are not deveined.

We were really looking forward to eating this shrimp, but extremely disappointed with the quality. The shrimp had a bad bite and gritty. Should have returned to seller, but we threw it away.

This hands down is the best shrimp you will eat. For those of us that don’t live close enough to the Gulf to get them, this is the next best option.

Ordered before and came perfect. This time awful!! Not sure if it’s edible.

After getting a pound of this shrimp in Key West at dinner. I did not feel like this order of five pounds was accurate. It seem more like three pounds. I guess I should have weighted it in the beginning. I shared with two friend and they though so too. The shrimp however is amazing, just like it was in key West.
