Great innovation that closes an obvious weak spot in a trailer hitch. Superb quality and craftmanship.

The lock is the highest quality and would buy again but the included nut wrench must be worth $20 or more and may never use it again. A pipe / adjustable wrench would have done the job.

Great concept and quality, but the website and printed descriptions are inadequate. This lock (because of the diameter of the housing) will not fit on a hitch that has stabilizer bar receiver cups on either side of the ball shank. Descriptions repeatedly emphasize diameter and length of ball shank, but say nothing about the amount of available space required to tighten down the nut and then slip the housing over the shank. If you have stabilizer bars, call the manufacturer before ordering and possibly save yourself time and money! Very frustrating to find this out after getting into the installation process. Pricey, but a hell of a lot cheaper than waking up and finding you whole rig gone. Easy install and a nice security addition, but for me it’s peace of mind away from home. Just make sure your receiver lock is not junk or your purpose is defeated.....and stolen.

The RJ Lock comes with a replacement ball nut that fits into a metal sleeve, which is tamper-proof when locked. Also included is a lock washer, 2 keys, a key-holder, and the hitch ball wrench. Amazon unfortunately failed to put the wrench in my shipment and offered two ways to make up for it, although neither option was appealing. I reached out to RJ Lock who resolved the matter fairly quickly at their own expense, even though it was Amazon’s oversight, not theirs. Bravo RJ Lock! For my inconvenience, Amazon added a small promotional certificate to my account and says it will make sure it doesn’t happen again, so that’s not bad either. My ball is 1 7/8” with a 1” shank and the RJ Lock fits perfectly. Good to see American ingenuity come up with such a nice product from some really nice folks.

You may think you're safe by locking your hitch's receiver and coupler, but did you know a thief can use a simple wrench to unscrew the nut holding the hitch ball in a few seconds and take off with your trailer even while it is attached to your towing vehicle?!This product addresses this issue and since it's patented there is nothing else like it.The only hitch is that it is made for 1" ball shanks only, so those of you using the larger 1-1/4 ball shanks for class IV and V hitches are out of luck. Note that the maker exclusively sells on Amazon.
