Q: Is a solar panel included?

No, a solar panel is not included. But, any solar panel from 6-28V will work. I recommend using a panel between 2-5W, depending on your power requirements. More information is available in the knowledge base at our website.

Q: What are the specs of the builtin RTC?

The energyShield 2 Pro uses NXP's PCF85063A RTC chip. You can look up its datasheet and you can look at the energyShield 2 Hardware Reference page in the Knowledge Base of the NightShade Electronics website for more information.

Q: what's the physical size of the battery? I'd like to replace it with a large amp-hour one.

The battery is 65mm x 42mm x 7mm. I've gutted a couple of these after I broke the USB port on one (they're a little fragile) and fried the circuits on another. The batteries were still good on both and I use the shield to charge it but made a different connector for the Arduino applications I was using. The plastic top cover pops off easily, so if your battery is a little thicker, you can always mount it differently or fashion a different cover. Before swapping out the Li-Po, I would suggest contacting the manufacturer to make sure it will adjust the charge appropriately. They responded to several emails from me very quickly and even sent me some Arduino stickers to share with others!

Q: Hello can i use this product to run sim800l gsm module. because the telecom synchronization module requires 2a of current? and how could i handle it?

As long as the shield only pulls 2 amps for a split second, you may be able to use a capacitor to help burden that load. Try something like a 1-4.7 mF cap. (Connect the capacitor to the 5V and GND connections on the shield.) However, the energyShield cannot sustain loads over 1A.
