Fits 1942 Husqvarna M38!
I was skeptical buying this because another reviewer said it wouldn't fit their 1942 Husqvarna.Well it fits mine like a glove, nice and solid. I'm no gun smith but this took me 10 minutes to install.Make sure to get a long eye relief scope, and enjoy your new rail!

Don't hesitate
I have a few Bad Ace scout mounts for different rifles and have yet to be disappointed. They fit tightly, mount solidly and hold zero. Ive found them to be as solid as S&K rear sight "no gunsmith" scout mounts. Both brands work equally as well.

Just what i had been looking for.
Easy to install in 5 minutes. No drilling or tapping. No damage to your gun. Seems rock solid on my 1900 Swedish Mauser M96. My rifle has been professionally reblued and an oil finish applied to the stock. Installed this mount and a Vortex Crossfire 2x7 Scout (long eye relief) scope. Shot it on Feb 3 2019. The pic is 4 shots at 100 yards using cheap Privi Partizan ammo. Two of them went through the top hole. Going to smooth up the trigger and shoot it some more. I think with spme work this will shoot sub moa at 100 yards. Not bad for a 119 year old warhorse and a 64 year old shooter who suffered a detached retina in his shooting eye.

I'm really impressed
I have two Swedish Mausers. A 1904 Carl Gustav 1896 and a 1942 Husqvarna M38. Both are fantastic rifles, but there are times where I've wanted a scope mounted on them for extra accuracy. Lots of other mounts require you to modify your rifle in some way, so I was very happy when I found this mount.I was a little apprehensive about the work required to install the mount, but it's dirt simple if you have a few standard tools. A set of gunsmiths punches and a small hammer are essential to the process, but they're cheap and other tools could be used in a pinch. The hardest part of the installation is getting the spring under the original sight loose. The 1896 had years of accumulated gunk that was keeping the spring from moving. Once I freed the spring, I cleaned the area where it was held in place with some CLP and softened the grease on the M38 with CLP before trying the installation.Once the sight pin and spring are removed, the part of the mount that slides into the groove formerly occupied by the spring goes in, followed by the body of the mount. Once it's properly aligned, you tap the original pin back into place, apply loctite to the screws, tighten everything up and you're good to go.Because the mount is much further forward than usual, you'll need to use a long eye relief scope. I have a Nikon Force XR 2.5X - 8X Pistol scope on a set of Warne QD rings (1" low mount) and it works perfectly for this application.I highly recommend this mount. It works perfectly and requires no modifications to your rifle.Nikon Force XR Scopehttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0062OSZIM/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1Warne QD Ringshttps://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002MJZ2A/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

Does Not Fit My Husqvarna 1942 M38
Ordered this from BadAce website originally for my Husqvarna M38. It just plain does not fit that rifle. As Kehaya and Poyer (the real authorities on Swedish Mausers) point out, the original military sight bases for the M96 and the cut-down M96-38s have different dimensions from the military sight bases on the purpose-built Husqvarna M38 rifles. The spacing between the rectangular posts that hold the sight leaf pin is smaller on the Huskies. This base will simply not fit between the posts so that the pin hole in the scope base matches up with the pin holes in military sight base. Either the particular scope base that I received is defective in this regard, or this will be a problem with any Husqvarna M38 with an unaltered military sight base. It does fit my M96 and I have mounted it quite easily and added a scope. I am giving 3 stars only because BadAce should make it clear that this scope base is only for M96 and M96-38 rifles and not the Husqvarna M38s.After searching a bit, I see that BadAce does make another mount specifically for the Husqvarna M38. However, it extends back over the bolt. That would be a good choice if you want to use a LER scope, but I would not call it a scout scope mount per se. There are other manufacturers that make scout scope mounts for the Husky M38. I ordered one of those. That mount should allow me to still use stripper clips.

Precision Made for a Perfect Fit
The rail fit perfectly on my 1905 Swedish Mauser. The manufacturing quality is precise and milled for a perfect fit. It was a breeze to install. I put a red laser dot scope on the rifle and I zeroed-in at 100 yards with extreme accuracy. It is a game changer for me.

Primo product. Very well made.
Good design and quality item. It's winter in MN now, can't wait to try it out! Instructions say to remove the handguard. Check to see if you can drift the rear sight pin out first without removing the handguard.

Works as advertised
Can't ask for more than that.
