Kanzashi Tutorial: The Ultimate Guide To Making A Kanzashi Fabric Flowers

This book is mainly about the significance and description of each type of Kanzashi than it is a how-to guide. I found it to be interesting but wasn't really what I was looking for. However, the explanations, significances and history is interesting, which is why I'm giving it 4 stars.

It had some good info but was not really what I wanted very few pictures and the ones it did have were not in color. The Japanese fabric flower book was a far better purchase for me.

While it contains some instructions, for a one of the main flowers, this is by NO MEANS a tutorial or guide as to how to make the flowers. Especially the flowers pictured on the cover.What the booklet does do, is give a brief historical perspective of the use and appropriate color based on month of year for Kanzashi. However, even those statements are somewhat inaccurate as the Geisha of even 2019 is not schooled to partake in westernized or American beliefs.

Firstly, the title of this book is beyond misleading, it should actually be titled ‘Different Types of Kanzashi’ but then no one would buy it as that would be information you could just google! This is misleading marketing as it’s not a tutorial at all, the picture I have attached demonstrate the only part that is tutorial orientated.. all 7 steps! And then hear steps for an absolute beginner serve no purpose because you need step by step pictures to go with it, It’s quite a joke really. The pages are not numbered and it states that it has been printed by Amazon, more like someone’s back room! This is not actually a book but a lengthy information leaflet. At £7 a throw for 7 steps it’s pretty expensive and useless information, not to mention a complete con! I’m sure it would be useful as shredded bedding should you own a hamster!

Truly disappointing. Cheap book, black and white photos. Difficult to follow instructions which only took up two pages of the book.Have made fabric flowers in the past so have some experience. Absolute rubbish. Wold have given 0 stars if possible.
