First time trying to do poly gel nails. I’ve never had acrylic nails because of sports and wanted to give this a try for “vacation nails” for my upcoming trip. I watched YouTube videos and tutorials for probably a week before deciding to give this out a try. It’s certainly a learning curve and I was impressed with the results I was able to get for the first time trying it out (though it did take me 5 hrs to do this set 😵‍💫). All in all, it’s pretty easy to use and all of the tools are there, save for a UV curing lamp. Nails feel durable and if you want to take them off, the flexibility of this mix makes removal easy on the natural nails. I definitely had to redo a few nails and was happy with how easily it could be removed (with the right tools of course). We will see how long this lasts though I don’t plan to keep them on for more than 2 weeks. I imagine it will stay secure at least through my weeklong trip.

I normally use Gelish but I wanted to try Beetles because of the amount of colors and types available and of course because of the economical price. I really wanted to love it. However, I did a trial run on just two nails to make sure I wouldn’t have any sort of negative reaction (PLEASE find reviews about these reactions—it’s very scary). Granted, I wasn’t using a dust collector and I should have been but I never use one with Gelish. The SMELL of this was pungent, odd and STRONG right out of the box. I’m not new to gel polish. I’ve used it since it came out years and years ago and have used pretty much all of the salon brands. But the smell with this one nothing I had ever experienced. It was from another world and not in a good way. I went ahead and did my two trial nails hoping that the smell would dissipate after I finished them. The nails came out well and I was happy with the performance of the products. But the smell did not lessen whatsoever. My Dyson air filter started reporting my air quality as “severe” for chemical levels. It had gotten late so I went to bed despite my concern about the continued strong smell. The next morning, the smell had permeated my entire home (around 2500 square feet) including every textile that is in use in my home (bedding, throw blankets, clothes, etc.). My Dyson and Guardian air filters are both still screaming at me warning me of high levels of chemicals present in the air. Fortunately, I live in a warm climate where the temperature today is a mild 68 degrees and there’s a strong ocean breeze. I’ve had to open every window and door and turn on all ceiling fans and stand alone fans as well as every air purifier I own. It’s worth mentioning that my HVAC system is only four years old and has a top of the line filtration system to include two different types of UV lamps so I also have it running on high. I’m having to do everything and anything to try and get this smell to go away. Today I will have to spend the day washing every textile that’s been exposed and dusting and vacuuming every surface and item that exists in my home. I also have a sore throat, a headache that won’t quit and I’m coughing a lot. My two dogs are coughing, too. Needless to say I removed the two trial nails and polish as fast as I possibly could. Despite washing my hands over and over I can’t get the smell off them, either. This is crazy and it’s probably dangerous!! Please save yourself the trouble, save your lungs, and save your home by NOT purchasing any Beetles products. It’s just not worth it.

Really love this stuff. It was super easy to use. But I'm most impressed with how long they have lasted - 2 weeks and counting. I had one randomly pop off while I was moving furniture, I didn't even feel it come off, and my natural nail looks perfectly healthy, unlike when I pop off gel polish or powder dip. I did have to file the base of the nail at my cuticle where it grew out, started lifting, and caught on my hair. That was a week ago and hasn't pulled my hair since.I would consider myself an intermediate nail person. I have used gel polish and powder dip for several years, and gotten good enough that people are shocked when I say I did them myself. But I don't do other people's nails, and I don't do any art or special effects. It also takes me, on average, 2 hours to do both hands.Easiest method: I put a dab of gel directly on the nail, and then pushed on the mold. Applying the gel to the nail with the tool and using the slip solution was more difficult. I did have issues not using enough gel which created air pockets between the mold and my nail. They turned out very thick, but no thicker than acrylics, or even powder dip I've done before. They are strong too, I can open a soup can pop tab with just my nail. I also felt no pressure on my natural nail like full sets feel when you first put them on. The poly gel was always comfortable, really easy to shape with the nail file supplied. I just had to use my own UV light, that was the only thing not provided. I also echo the experience of another reviewer in that my right hand looks just as good as my left, which is really rare.I'm excited to try new colors, and I would definitely purchase this brand again.

This was my first time using polygel, and I love it. This kit arrived quickly, and the packaging is excellent - each item fits sung into it's own foam cutout inside of a pretty, reusable cardboard box. I love the easy versatility polygel allows - I can have any length with out having to deal with tips, glue, messy powder acrylic and fumes. I did the 'dot of polygel onto the nail and press it down and into shape with the dual form method', and found it to be really easy to do! The cured nails are easy to file into shape and finish, but are also very strong and sturdy - I'm sure these will last easily 2 to 3 weeks no problem! I can't wait to buy more colors! Here, I used the "Skintone" color and applied a layer of curable, glitter, gel polish over top before a final top coat. A tiny bit of slip solution goes a loooong way so the bottle included in this kit should last quite a while. I very happy and looking forward to experimenting with different looks!
