This set worked great to scrape clean and preserve the natural curves of the lumpy side of a giant outdoor log table and benches. Some inner bark had oriignally been left on for accent color and seemed to be the main areas new cracks formed that gave a way in fo tenacious bugs and fungi that attack through extreme summer heat, long rainy season, and some brutal snowstorms. That discoloration and rot was in and amongst the still-super-strong spar varnish that permeated the wood quite deeply. It bounced off and burned up so many sanding pads and stripping tools, and more agressive tools would have ground away the woods natural look. It was painstaking, but these hand tools were the answer to scrape past the grey.

I mostly bought this for the burnishing tool but I’m still disappointed that the card scrapers showed up rusty. I’ll try cleaning them and putting a new edge on them

I have seen many furniture refinishers using card scrapers on video and blog posts and decided to give them a try. As this set included a sharpener, felt it was a good deal. Well, that is where the love ended! These things are hard to sharpen, dull easily and I even cut myself trying to hold onto one of the odd-shaped ones while scraping. These went in the trash…but kept the sharpener for my chef’s knife. Pass this item up, folks!

I bought these to try using them as paint scrapers on a table & chairs that I'm refinishing. This is the second set I bought. First set was from a different seller, but they all work great!

The card scrapers are fine but they included a cutlery steel NOT a burnished. It has a knurled finish to it that will not burnish but just toughen the scrapers edge

I never had a sit like this before and now I don’t know how I live without it! Really great and comes with a sharpening tool to keep those edges extra clean

These aren't horrible but they don't hold an "edge" to long . These are very ridged for card scrappers so your hands get a workout lol

If youd buy dull razor, toothless circular saw blades, ot edgeless chisels then these are the card scrapers for you. Once you doo all the initial prep they probably work fine. However if you don't like to buy blades chisels and scrapers you have to prep for first use then these aren't the scrapers for you.

No way in the world this is new.... hate when this happens. Scratches all over and some sticky dirt over the blades.
