RadonAway76002 Vent Cap for 4" Schedule 40-9801147

when I bought my house there was a radon mitigation system installed, but the top was left without any cover, and we get a lot of snow here. I just wanted something to shed the snow and leave sides available.I did put in a few screws into the top to stop any birds from hanging out on top.

The contractor installed Radon pipe without cap. Rain gets into the pipe constantly. This is a good and right product that fits my radon pipe outlet and solved the problem.

I didn't like the idea that most installers did not include a vent cap as I do not have a sump pump. I added a smaller diameter screen to the outside to better control wasps. I used hot glue to attach the screen. I did not glue this on but attached this with two screws so I can clean it if needed.

It allowed rain and snow in, flooded the system. Removed several gallons of water. Not for areas with rain, sleet or snow or 20-30 mph winds, such as WY. Contacted there customer service info and they have the incorrect phone number and the other site listed fave us RadonAway phone #:(800-767-3703)but they weren’t much help either. We ended up putting a 90 on the top of system. We are trying to return this item. Most areas this may work. 30 day return isn’t the best for DIY ‘s as the job did take time but getting a actual correct radon read takes days. As Amazon out sources these products by 3rd party no one honors the radon products as the only sell to contractors. We have dropped 10+ points since installing our system, prior reading 13.9 We purchased our fan at Menards. We watched videos and read about radon mitigation before doing the project., also grinder & sealed cracks with ‘Sikaflex’.I purchased a “Safety Siren pro Series 3 Radon Gas Detector” from Amazon to get constance readings.Used Schedule 40, 4” PVC pipe.

Works great for a weather vent for a porta potty.

Not very impressed with this unit. Picture makes it look larger than what it actually is so in reality the crown cap is very small and barely covers the hole and outlet vent screens. I'm not in a rainy location so I decided to go ahead and install it. If I lived in a rainy/windy location I would recommend a unit with a larger crown cap to keep the rain out of your system.

The roof cap was needed for roof vent as it relates to Radon mediation. It worked as expected.

Great product for an item mandated by BC code now.

After reading about the requirements introduced in the State of Ohio, I drilled about a dozen 1/8 inch holes in the top to enable some gas to escape straight up into the atmosphere. The vertical end grates are not very strong. I unintentionaly broke the corner out of one of them quite easily.

Beyond expensive for what it is. Works fine...
