Am impressed and these days... and that takes some doing!!!
OK OK. Grab a coffee, and get yr credit card ready. This unit has been up for about a month. To be truthful.... it was a gamble. I never heard of ECOWITT, so I read up on the make. What swayed it for me was the TFT screen (Transistor/Film/Transistor). In addition, the plethora of supported sensor types appealed to me.Cutting a long story short. The KEY question is this: knowing what you know.... would you buy it again ?? YES YES YES is the simple answer. It does exactly what I need, for me, most importantly are the wind-speed and wind direction, as well as the outside temperature. & barometer reading. Granted... for around a 1000 quid or so you can buy a Davis station. Do you need that ? Really ?Mine is hooked up to Weather Underground and from anywhere on the planet I can see the station with all it's details on my mobile phone. One thing which does needs a specific mention. With many of these items from far away... the user manual is poor, to put it bluntly. Not so in this case. The user manual is EXCELLENT, I was more than a little pleasantly surprised. It is detailed and well written. Oh... another point ? The unit can store it's data on a microsd card, a 1 GB card will hold TEN YEARS of data! I have a 32 GB card in mine so can look forward to 320 YEARS of data storage.... but I guess I won't be around 320 years from now. ( I hope !).Folks... I could make this a VERY VERY detailed and long review, but the summary here says it all: I would buy it again in a heartbeat.PS: I have since bought an additional 4 temperature and humidity sensors, it can handle 8 (eight) in total, plus a huge amount of other sensors. DO NOTE: The console will alternate between those sensors IF you want that.In summary... .. I am delighted with this unit. I hope you will be too with yours.Quick addendum.... the Temp. sensor with the external probe is on the way, as is the lightning sensor. Being a very active radio amateur I am particularly interested to see how the lightning sensor will take to my numerous antennas and transmitters. Keep an eye on this review and once they have been in use for a while I will update this review again. I have now also brought the unit up on the ECOWITT server so I can see all the external temp sensors. Highly recommend that you consider doing that too, if you have any of them. Note that while the console WILL show those sensors... the Weather underground website WILL NOT.UPDATE: OK.... lightning sensor and cabled temperature sensor now installed. Brilliant, just brilliant. installation instructions for the sensors are excellent. -20C in the freezer. No thunderstorms here so not (yet) able to comment on the accuracy of that sensor. Being a very active radio amateur.. am delighted to report that the sensor is NOT triggered by my radio transmitters. Delighted.

awesome
takes a bit of effort to connect to other services and their own ocowitt website for stats is rather bad ( it wont allow updates if wifi drops for a bit even though the devicve holds the data ) , Use it on WOWS or any of the others and its great - mobile app unfortunately ahs the same restrictions as the website so ignore the ecowitt app and website once it setupp - the dfevice itself is excellent just make sure you do point it int he correct direction - getting sea level correct is the hardest as it will only allow units that arent readily availabel but using convertion sites works
