Bats in the Band (A Bat Book)

I love that you get attached to the bat characters. They have so much fun on their bat adventure. There are 3more in the series to enjoy.

Another great book by one of my favorite children's' author and publisher Brian Lies. We have all of these books in our library and just like in previous books, look closely at the illustrations to see hints about what bands are playing and who the bat artists are mimicking. The rhyming is not quite as smooth as in previous books, but my kids still love hearing this over and over.Try reading this and playing one or two of the kid friendly songs from the bands mentioned or illustrated. Lots of fun.

Our grandchildren love this book and all the "bat" books by Brian Lies.

An adorable book! I am a fan of all the Bat Books, but this is my favorite!

I love to read this book and so does my 5 yr old!

The stories are imaginative and just plain fun. The illustrations are marvelous. Fantastic!

This is the weakest of the 4 bat books that we own all by the same author. Kids do not necessarily get the jokes because they don't know different styles of music yet. This did not work for our kindergartners and we are not sure if they will grow into it. We recommend the other three books!

PRICELESS!!! PERFECT!!!! I bought this for my 4 year old granddaughter for Christmas. It came today and I just finished looking through it. She is going to flip over it! I did!!! The artwork is fantastic.... the bagpipe playing bat got to me! The only critique I might have is that it should come with a musical CD to play along with the reading. Other than that, it hit ALL the high notes!!! Thank you Brian Lies for reminding us that imagination is still alive and well in this modern day.

Got this out at the library and then just had to but as it is such a great book.If you like bats (like my girls) you will love this - there are other books in the series I can recommend those too.

We looked forward to adding this book to the collection of "Bats" books we have by Brian Lies. It did not disappoint. I love the flow of the rhyming lines of the book. The illustrations are beautiful and so detailed that you keep finding new things each time you read the book.
