Bought to replace the one on our boat trailer that broke at the boat landing. Great quality and works like a champ. Easy to install, cranks easily, strap is well made too. We’ve had our boat out on the water probably 10-12 times already this summer with using this winch.

Great customer service! I had an issue with the crank. I emailed pi turrs and they sent a new winch within days.

I built an 8x12 observatory building with a roll-off roof in my back yard. With solar panels for shingles, the roof weighed about 1000 pounds and was thus too heavy to move with muscle power alone. The winch is mounted on the east wall, and along with two or three 4-inch pulleys (depends on whether opening or closing) makes for an easy job of moving the roof. An added benefit was that during construction (after the winch was already mounted) it came in handy for lifting the 60-pound outboard rafter "ladder: assemblies and the OSB sheets that went on the roof and upper walls of the roof assembly.

I’ve been using it primarily to haul my 18-ft fishing boat onto the trailer, and it’s handled the job with confidence. What I Liked: • Strong Build: The frame feels rugged and durable. No flexing or rattling under tension. • Heavy-Duty Strap: The 32-foot orange strap is high-visibility and well-stitched. No fraying or stretching so far. • Gear Options: The 4:1 and 8:1 gear ratios are useful depending on the load. The ratchet works as expected and feels secure. • Easy Setup: Installation screws were included, and mounting it to my trailer frame was straightforward. Room for Improvement: • Cranking Effort: While the winch does the job, the handle could be smoother under heavy load. It gets a little stiff, especially when using the 8:1 gear. Some added grease helped, but it could benefit from better internal lubrication from the factory. • Handle Position: The handle is a bit short for the amount of torque needed in the higher gear. A longer option would make heavy pulls a bit easier on the arm. Final Thoughts: For the price, this winch punches above its weight class. It’s tough, reliable, and does exactly what it’s supposed to do — just don’t expect it to be silky smooth out of the box. A little maintenance goes a long way. I’d definitely recommend it to weekend boaters or anyone looking for a dependable manual winch without breaking the bank.

Junk. The holes didn’t line up with original factory holes on my boat trailer like it stated in the description for one but I can get past that. Today was the first I tried using this item. So it’s dark out and I was loading my boat out of the lake, get it all setup and ready to start cranking. I made it half a crank and it wouldn’t move anymore. So I got my flashlight out and looked, one of the teeth on the small gear was bent or mis-shaped so it was catching when I was trying to crank. Really ticked me off. So in my mind, I’ll just click the deal over and try to avoid using that gear… yeah no go, that isn’t possible. Instead, the bent tooth pushed the selector switch up out of the way causing the winch to free spool and it took my knuckle with it. So I had to try to free spool winch my boat up on the trailer. 3500lb winch right? My boat weighs just under 2000 keep in mind. It completely stripped out the handle and snapped the squared off bolt that the handle attaches to…. Definitely junk, definitely not rated for anywhere close to 3500 lbs. maybe 500lbs. Garbage. I will be demanding my money back. By the way, my boat is stuck at the lake until I can go buy a new winch somewhere so that’s awesome..
