First 24 Hours With A Solid Product! *UPDATED*
After much research in to the different smart video doorbells on the market, I opted for ISeeBell over Ring and Skybell, mainly due to the numerous comments on the lack of consistency in notifications and snapshots from the more well known brands.First thing I noticed is the packaging is so similar to that of Apple's devices, it is obvious that the company was going for something similar. And why not? Apple puts a lot of money and time in to perfecting the unboxing experience, so it makes sense ISeeBell wanted to mimc it. The way in which the cam is wrapped, the style of the box, the sleeve the documentation is kept in. It even says "Designed by ISeeBell in Boston", similar to the "Designed by Apple in California". If this thing had HomeKit support, which it does not, I can easily see it sitting on a shelf in an Apple Store. What comes inside the box is just about everything you need, minus an electric drill, though the exact bit you need is nicely included. The only extra tools I ended up needing was a pair of diagonal cutters to snip back the longer, curled, solid wires that had been connected to the old doorbell. I also ended up using them to snip a slit in to the rubber part on the back of the cam holder so the wires could poke through easier. In regards to the initial setup, it was fairly simple. I used the included power plug, connected it to the cam with the also included screwdriver, plugged it in and went through the step-by-step instructions in the app. At one point the camera has to scan the QR code that contains information that it will use to connect to your wifi. Had a minor issue with this, as my iPhone connects to a 5ghz wifi, and the app uses the wifi connection you are currently using as the one it will configure the cam with, which only supports 2.4ghz. Simple fix. My router supports simultaneous dual-band, so I connected to my 2.4ghz network and went through the setup again. For those that aren't as tech savvy, it may not be so easy, but I've heard ISeeBell's support is pretty solid, though I have yet to communicate with their tech support folks. When I first viewed the live feed, it didn't look great. Very low res, but by the time I set it up outside the front door, the picture was much better. Perhaps it was the low lighting or maybe it was installing some updated f/w. Notifications happen on my iPhone and Apple Watch within 10 seconds of setting off the motion detector during the day, so no issues there. I like that the app prompts me to answer a doorbell ring as if it were a phone call. The 2-way communication sounds as good as I expected. Slight delay, but I doubt anyone will have more than a 15 second conversation over it. "Thanks, but no thanks!" "Come on in!" "Hold on a second!" That will probably be the extent of it. The one negative that I'm seeing a bit of is that as some people left the house last night, the cam didn't take a snapshot until they were almost out of sight, so that tells me that there may be a bit of a delay when the nightvision comes in to play. Perhaps through software updates this can be tightened up.And speaking of software, I have a couple of gripes that I am hoping will be resolved in the near future. When I mentioned researching different products that do the same thing, the one major advantage that some competitor's had is their ability to communicate with other pieces of smart home hardware via hardware/software hubs like Samsung Smartthings and IFTTT. I briefly spoke with someone from ISeeBell who assured me that Alexa support is incoming, but to what degree? Since I don't utilize the lock/unlock portion of the product, what can communicating with the cam through my Dot do for me? The interplay between products is what is important to most people that are adopting the smart home lifestyle. If a doorbell ring or motion detection could trigger my Philips Hue lights via Smartthings or IFTTT, I would be very happy. This could be useful when listening to music loudly, so as not to be able to hear the chime go off, but seeing the lights flash instead. Or perhaps my Nest could inform the ISeeBell that I'm away, as it does with Hue, and if someone comes to the door it turns on Hue lights in certain rooms to give the appearance that someone is home, giving potential intruders some pause. Hopefully before the end of this year, we can see some integration with some of these other smart home products, but if not, I may keep my eyes out for other smart doorbells that could potentially fit my needs a bit better. That being said, I like their product a lot and want to really love it.UPDATE - 11/1/17: So, I've decided to return the unit, replacing it with the more popular Ring Video Doorbell 2. Here is my quick list of issues that ultimately caused me to make this decision...1. No IFTTT, Alexa or SmartThings support. In my opinion, there's no point in having a smart appliance like this one if it can't communicate with the rest of the smart home. I was told Alexa support was incoming, but no date on integration with the other services. I currently have motion detection and rings setting off various Hue lights now that I have Rings product.2. The only time that the ISeeBell records video is when the doorbell is rung. Motion sensor response will only capture a snapshot. It would be nice to have options here. I personally prefer video for everything, where I can get a screen grab from that if need be. Both motion and rings are uploaded as video to Rings online storage service.3. No option to communicate through the doorbell speaker without someone having pressed the button. This is another feature that Ring does right. Conversation can be had at any time.4. The button... no one presses it. Ring puts a nice, uh, ring of light around the button. Really makes people want to press it.5. And lastly (without nitpicking), the ISeeBell app is pretty... basic. Almost ugly. Ok, it is pretty darn ugly. It could really use a fresh coat of paint and an overhaul. Compared to Ring's app, it's like Major League (Ring) vs. Tee-Ball (ISeeBell).Eventually I'll put up a review on Ring's doorbell. I will say that the setup was so much easier with ISeeBell's product.

Doorbell itself is fine, but I cant recommend....until they fix the app
OK, so I have mixed feelings about this doorbell. This is long so I'll summarize it first, you can read on for more detail. I think the doorbell itself, the hardware, the functionality setup is good, probably a 4 star product. the app looks nice but there is an issue with playback of videos when you are notified. something weird is going on with the time and timing that makes viewing alerts almost unusable. if you only use it in real time Id say get this. if you want to be able to take advantage of all the replaying of videos etc, I cannot recommend this until they fix the app.I bought this doorbell after purchasing the Zmodo Greet smart. Ive used a lot of Zmodo camera's and I know the software and what to expect etc. I had some installation issues with the Zmodo doorbell (I think i got a defective one) so I sent it back and decided to try a different one instead. iseebell had good reviews so I bought it (was $99 when i bought it).Installation was a breeze. it came with enough stuff that I was able to make it fit in my existing doorbell slot with no issue. I followed the directions to jumper out my existing chime and plugged in the included chime and went through the easy setup and it was all installed and working within a half hour. The image quality of the doorbell I felt was sufficient. everything is clear, I kindof didn't like how there is the ring around the image like im looking through a peep hole but thats not a big deal. I get motion alerts on my phone which is what I want, and Im able to go in and click areas on the screen to not monitor for motion so that I can keep it from picking up passing cars. if someone rings the doorbell my phone rings like I have a phone call but it shows an image of the person at the door. I can then answer or ignore the call. there is also a button to unlock that will work if you have some type of smartlock. I dont so ive never used that feature. As far as the doorbell from outside, looking at it as a visitor. there are a few things Ive noticed, or had a little bit of a problem with. One, the button you press to ring the doorbell is not an actual button but a touch sensitive circle. There is a blue light shaped as a musical note to indicate to visitors that this is where you press. Pressing it is a little off-putting, since it isn't an actual button you feel like you didn't do anything, or maybe your not pressing the correct thing. One way iseebell helps this is that there is a chime that sounds outside when you press that button. suppose to give a little audio feedback, but I wish there was just a button that you push instead of a "touch circle"The second part to this is that Ive had people visit and press the actual camera lens thinking that is the button. if you look at the picture. that circle in the middle of the doorbell is the camera, it looks like the doorbell button. ive had plenty of people come and press that and stand there and if it wasn't for the motion alert, I wouldn't have known anyone was at the door.UP till this point of my review, I would give this Doorbell a high 4 stars. there are some issues but I like it enough that I would completely recommend this to others.....but there is more that changes things for me.The app you use to manage/view the alerts etc on my phone looks nice. it looks pretty easy to use as far as the interface (Im on android, using a Samsung note 8). one thing i noticed about the app from the beginning is that sometimes you have to press things a lot of times before it does anything. seems like certain things are just non-responsive at times.Another problem I have is when you go to view a alert or a ring, it takes a while to download the clip. its not instant. coming from Zmodo, Im use to having it show you as soon as you press the alert you want to view, this one have you press a cloud button and it downloads sometimes you have to press it several times. I also have other cameras (Y!) that do this same thing and its annoying when you are trying to see what an alert was real quick. My biggest complaint, and why I cant recommend this to anyone. there is an issue with the time on the app and recordings. example, 5:30 am, I got a ring. later on that morning I woke up and noticed i had a missed ring. i click the button that say do I want to view it now. so I watch a full 2 minute clip and nothing happens. the time stamp on the video footage it showed me actually said 6:30 instead of 5:30 but the time on the app time scale said 5:30. so if i fiddle with the time scale and take it back to 4:30 I eventually find the video footage of the doorbell ring. Mind you, I have the cloud service. if you didn't have the cloud service, you wouldn't be able to go back and find that ring.Every motion alert or ring is like that. well not every ring, sometimes it gets the ring right (but I think that is because of the cloud service) but most times when i want to view any video from an alert, i dont see the actual motion. I know its not a false motion alert as I can see the snapshot it takes of a person in the doorway but when i view the video there would be nothing for a full 2 minutes. trying to view footage is just a chore. they need to fix this part of the app. it makes using the doorbell beyond live viewing and live doorbell rings very unreliable.there is a known problem with the time zone etc and they have instructions on that in the help section but the problem is beyond that as I always check my time zone and it is correct.I could not recommend this to others. Im a tech savvy person, IT professional but someone that isnt would just say it doesnt work. I have a friend right now that has visited me several times that wants a doorbell and she asked me about mine and I started telling her about how the Ring doorbell is now $99 and is owned by Amazon now. i dont want to be the one that recommends this to her and she has the problems im having and I end up being her fulltime doorbell tech support

Excelente video portero! UPDATE
