This book has Ben a big help in starting out with the Harmonica. I was a absolute beginner four shure. I like the way the book showes bouth Notes & Tablature so you know whether to Blow or Draw. I'll never become Howlin Wolf , but I am having a lot of fun.

This is not the first book I bought and read about harmonica playing. This one is a bit basic but I suppose, because of what it offers, that it might be good enough for an absolute beginner. I think this book is worth it for anybody trying to get started. Among other useful stuff from which a beginner can profit, it teaches a bit on how to read a one stave music score and uses the harmonica tablature system which, from all being around, I personally find to be (for me) the easiest to follow when trying to play while simultaneously reading a music score. The music scores in the book (many of which are the same given in other books) are quite simple, but enjoyable enough. I think that the subject on cross harp technique could have been explained a bit more thoroughly (it is not explained at all why is it that for technical reasons it works so well, for example, for the Blues). For those who decide to buy this book and later on would want to dive deeper in the subject, I would recommend Harmonica for Dummies which, in spite of its name, is much more comprehensive. In my attempt to learn to play Blues with an harmonica I am finding very useful and enjoyable Blues Harmonica for Dummies, Blues & Rock Harmonica by Glenn Weiser (which is not being sold in Kindle format) and Blues Harmonica Blueprint by Annie Raines.

Bought this for my husband who has breathing problems. Did you know that playing the harmonica helps your breathing ? Especially for senior citizens. Your book is easy to read and understand. Thanks, Pat S Tucson

It is an OK book for learning how to play a Harmonica. Being new to playing a harmonica I was looking for maybe something with more details. Found free video’s in the internet that have shown me more.

Very clear. If you know next to nothing about harp and want to learn quickly to whistle something it is a good handbook.

A simple and short guide for someone (like myself) who is just getting in to the harp. If you have never played before, this is a good place to start! I originally started with a longer, more professional guide before realizing that I was in over my head. I sat that one aside for when I have a little more experience and turned to this one instead.
