Is this set compatible with the Raspberry Pi?

Yes, I am using it on a Raspberry Pi.

Is it compatible with Mac OS X?

It is compatible however the keyboard keys are printed to correspond to Windows functions. It will still work but it won’t properly correspond to Mac OS because they are not printed for the Mac layout. Same goes for using a Mac keyboard on PC.

does it work with Windows 8?

It is a standard Windows keyboard layout so should since all of my legacy Windows keyboards work with Windows 8 using the Windows keys. I have used this specific keyboard at work, where we use Windows XP (don't laugh) but there is no reason this will not work with WIN 8.

I need a USB keyboard without an integrated or built-in hub (no child/female USB ports on sides,front or back). Does this one meet that requirement?
