Organize It All Dual Compartment Step on Recycling Trash Can-Stainless Steel, 10-14 Gallons, Black

When you are going to spend over $50 for a garbage can, funny enough you spend your free time reading garbage can reviews. After comparing and researching, I decided on this trash can for several reasons:1 - reasonable price2 - easy step levers3- separate opening bins for trash and recycle4- sizeThis bin is the perfect size for my condo, it is not too big or too small. I am 5'2" and it comes to about mid-thigh high on me. The trash can I had before was too big, so within three days of throwing trash in there it stunk and it wasn't even close to full to take it out so I would waste big liners, so then I found myself using a small trash can and just taking it out and not even using the jumbo one. This can is perfect size. I also loved the little handles on the side which come in real handy when moving it. My other one did not have that and it was a balance act to not send the lid flying (which obviously it did many times).Things to be aware of:1 - Probably tight for a milk gallon jug (doesn't bother me because I don't buy gallon size)2 - there is no where to tuck the garbage bag liner, between the two sections so it just has to bunch there. It would be nice if there was a tucking area between the divider and around the bin to secure the trash bag liner and not see it hanging out.These two cons are not a huge deal and still worth the functionality, size, and price for having a trash and recycle bin in a small place. Definitely happy with this choice after researching all the other options. Worth it.

This is thus far a decent unit. I've had no problems with the mechanism. I use one side for trash and the other for recycling. The flaw that I find in this unit is its overall design. The plastic base extends about an inch past the bin on all sides which adds an unnecessary space requirement on the sides. However, this plastic footing is not sufficient to offset the outside hinge at the back of the unit. Even with the baseboard, this causes the lid to scrape the wall each time the unit is opened. My "fix" was to place a block of wood on the floor at the back of the unit. A better fix would be to either extend the footing in the rear to compensate for the lid hinge opening or redesign the hinge. A second more minor problem is with the individual interior bins. They each have a handle which seats on the inside of their respective bins thus becoming contaminated by the trash. Seating the handle outside the bin would be my personal preference.

It is a little skinnier than I anticipated. My only other issue i have is the metal handle that on the INSIDE of the can, rather than on the outside. It causes the bag to snag on the handle when it is full of trash and I try to pull it out of the can. It has torn more than once. A better design would be to lay the handle on the outside of the can to avoid the bag altogether. I could stand to have a LITTLE more space for my garbage, but it is adequate. Other than than, I am happy with it. It is worth the little sacrifice of space in order to have a 2 in 1 solution. You simply need to take the garbage out more often.

We bought this item as a Christmas gift for our son and wife in late November. I opened the top of the box for a cursory inspection but didn't remove it from the box (I should have). On Christmas day, our son and his wife opened the package and removed the container; lo' and behold, both sides (front and rear) were dented badly; this was due to poor packaging by the mfgr in Taiwan. My son wanted an exchange for an undamaged one so we repackaged it and attempted an exchange with the vendor "Hold N Store" in NY. After many phone calls we managed to get an RMA and delivery of a replacement. (Customer Service at Hold N Store answered the phone with "Hello" - that's it. WTF?) They have the worst customer service I've ever experienced. Anyway, three weeks later we finally received the replacement - WHICH WAS ALSO DENTED. Oy Vey!! This time the dents were only on one side, but not as bad as on the first container. We accepted it because I didn't want to go through the trouble with the vendor again. The basic problem is very weak packaging by the manufacturer; there's no packaging reinforcement along the curved part of the container. The slightest kick or bump along the package's edge will cause a dent in the unit. It's all chrome steel so the slightest dent will show up dramatically. Do NOT buy any of these types of containers from Hold N' Store. Buy locally at Linens N' Things or Bed Bath & Beyond where you can return it locally if damaged (which it will be). In over ten years of buying from Amazon.Com this is the first time I've had so much trouble exchanging an item.

Much smaller than I would like. Does it's job but the garbage fills too quickly so you have to keep replacing the bag.

Picture makes it look very nice, however, the body is made out of aluminum, not stainless steel like most cans of its price. I have almost broken my toe on the bottom that you step on several times, they stick out entirely too far. The size of it seems nice...until you try to pull your full trash bag out of it and realize it only holds about half as much as you thought and you proceed to rip your bag trying to pry it out.If you are looking for something to make your kitchen look pretty but pretty much serve no purpose then yes, buy this...if you are looking for something practicle that solves a problem...this is definitely not the way to go.

It is smaller than I anticipated (and I own that is my fault for not looking at the actual measurements). Also, there was a piece of used gum stuck to the underside of the lid. It was a little gross. Otherwise, it works well and would be great for smaller spaces, especially under a bar height cabinet.

Very nice!I had read all the reviews and expected a much smaller unit. Much to my surprise and delight it was the perfect size for us!In fact I thought it was rather big. Nice stainless steel and black borders. It came with two dents, but it was a warehouse deal, so I did not care.Its a trash can for goodness sake!Thank you Amazon for all the wonderful items you have for me to purchase.Still in AA (Amazon Ananonymous) but I do not think it's working!!! I'm good with it!
