I ordered this security outdoor camera August 25,2022 just had to purchase a Premium Cloud plan to continue for the camera to work but it won’t come on . The director says reset but there’s nothing in the hole on the camera to reset it. I’m not able to power it back on . I haven’t had it a year yet and it won’t power on

I got these as an extra safety measure I addition to my RING cameras. I set them up and one kept fixed on the floor and didn’t follow movement from my cat who was standing right in its view. Also didn’t light up.The second camera was on my back patio. It connected and then when I went to test it out, walking around and waving my hand I front of it, there was no detection and then it disconnected. I reset the camera, power source and even my wifi router. Still no connection. Then I read that the signal needs to be no farther than 33 feet away from router. I even have a signal extender on my router that’s at the back of the house. 33 feet is not far enough to keep a signal.So they are going to be returned. The cameras don’t suit my needs and seem faulty. I had their same problem with another company and there’s said 20 feet, so still the same problem.I even paid the extra monitoring services and the storage thinking it’d work if I paid the subscription. So I need to be refunded on that too. A total waste of time, effort and money.

Quality and reliability exceed Price point. Perfect security light. No forgetting to turn on your lights, perfect when you're traveling as they come on automatically and reliably. Last for years. My daughter's family ordered and uses these as well. I ordered spares.. don't want to be caught without this light. Recommend!

I was going to give a 2 star but decided to give one more star for good customer service.The camera last longer if the motion tracker is disabled. It seems to be some problem with the motor control mechanism. I turned it on for the first camera and after about a week, the camera died. The maker sent a replacement right a way, so that is great. After the replacement arrived, I disabled the motion tracker and the camera works perfectly. It survived 0 degree F so far.Once in a while the camera rotated itself to a different position. I am not sure if something caused it or not.Update Jan 5, 2024:Dropping to 1 star. The App starts to show advertisement blocking entire app with no x button to close. I have to exit the app and reopen it. Furthermore, it popups a window asking to sign up for cloud and it blocks the review video and prevents user from seeing or playing the video.Do not buy.

Edit: “After giving it more time I have to say I am disappointed in the cameras connectivity. I installed a memory card for the camera to store video and it does store the video but is very hit or Miss on rather you can view the entire clip. It’ll claim that it is unable to connect to camera most of the time despite the camera having strong signal. It doesn’t seem to have any trouble uploading to the shorter clips it alerts you with to the cloud though. It also has no problem live streaming. I suspect that this is an intentional flaw to encourage users to pay for the cloud service which basically means I wasted money buying the optional memory card” - end edit.I must say I have mostly been impressed with the functionality of this camera for the price. It works as advertised. The only two issues I have are with the motion tracking feature. #1. The camera is a little jerky when it tracks the target left and right BUT it does track the target. #2 Though you can manually tilt the camera (in app) left, right, up, and down when it comes to movement for the motion tracking it only tracks left and right. From what I e seen in my testing it will not move up and down to maintain the target lock. If you walk left or right it keeps track of you but if you walk toward it, it will not tilt down to keep you in its field of vision which is not good if your a burglar approaching the door it may be mounted next too. Over all, good for the money but tracking needs some improvement.

Purchased these for my husband. Set-up instructions are practically nonexistent, but after many, many tries, he finally found the correct procedure (and WROTE IT DOWN). The picture quality is excellent and he loves the fact that he can control the cameras from his phone. Recordable, zoom feature and nearly 360 degree movability. I recommend these highly, but I think the instructions should be improved, giving step by step procedures.

The camera sends me alerts all day long but there are never any pix of whatever is initiating the motion detection. Just still pix of my front porch. I even went out to my porch and moved around it after I picked up another Amazon order off my porch. The camera tracks me and I can see that happen because the light turns toward me when I move from left to right. The images are sharp but literally this camera doesn’t capture any human movement even tho I set it up to detect humans, and have it in high sensitivity to all motion. I checked out the issue in the manufacturer website (YI IoT) and this is a common problem for other customers. The answer is always “we appreciate your input and will do a firmware update to fix it.” I don’t pay for the cloud service since there’s no point if the camera doesn’t capture actual activity. I replaced my porch lightbulb with the camera because it is also a light but the light is dim. It’s okay tho. Since the power to the camera comes from the light socket, you have to leave the light switch on all the time or your power to the camera goes out. Not a huge problem and you can set the light to be on all the time, or off, or on auto which I think means the light will come on when movement is detected but I don’t want the porch light off at night so have it set to permanently On. I have the second camera (comes in pairs) on the back side of my house and it performs exactly the same as the porch camera. Lots of notifications throughout the day but never any pix of what is causing motion detection to activate. I would return these if I wasn’t over the 30 days maximum but didn’t get around to installing them in time to find out they really are a waste of money.

I installed these early in the day to give myself time to play around with them. I realize that it detects flies and anything moving as long as it's in the direction it's looking, so 1000 alerts per day. You don't want to turn it low because you want to know what's going on. You have to play with it to figure out which side of the cursor is gonna make the camera turn left/right or up/down, it's the opposite of where you really want it to go, I discovered. I got an alert in the middle of the night and a guy was skateboarding down the middle of the street, but after it detected it, it turned to the wall of my porch! I couldnt see nothing! I tried for about 30 minutes to get this raggedy piece of camera back to the direction I needed for it to be so I could see what this night prowler was doing. If these cameras were to prevent or deter anything, IT FAILED MISERABLE! I wanted to open my door and turn the dang on camera around with my hand! But I was scared to open the door at that time of night and this guy was fiddling around in front of my house. The patio camera, it stays looking at the wall, no matter how many times I turned it back. Now, it's saying my connection is abnormal on the second night of using it, so its still moving back and forth and I can't control or monitor anything because the camera is not connected. I'm throwing this stuff back in the box and returning this stuff so fast. I can't trust this product. Its not dependable and it doesn't make me feel safe in no kinda way. It actually gives me anxiety due to the fact you know it's something out there and what was purchased to allow you to see and monitor suspicious activity does not work properly when you actually need it. I guess I will have to buy something more expensive to get what I want and need.
