Q: Will it discover photos stored in several files?

The main reason I bought this product was that it promised to retrieve photos from my computer without me needing to direct it. As far as I can tell, it did as it promised. I followed this very simple directions and it surveyed my entire computer. It noted duplicate photos that I saved in several places because they are so important and and kept going. After I used it to scan one computer, I used it , easily on another computer. I plan to insert photo discs of saved photos and have it collect those. I have not done it yet, but based on it's performance so far, I have confidence this won't be a problem. My concern, outside of old computers is that a friend mentioned that her old CD's of photos were totally fading and disappearing. I don't want to lose old CD photos. So, I saved my photos on both old computers and will also save all the old cds. I like this product so far. Good luck

Q: What will happen if the total number/size of photos on my computer exceeds the capacity of PhotoStick?

It will copy all pictures & videos in alphabetical order until full then it will stop when capacity has been reached. You can then copy those files to a known location on your Windows or MAC Desktop computer or laptop. Then delete the files from the PhotoStick and copy the rest of the files to the stick. Repeat this process as many time as necessary.

Q: I have "grouped" photos but when I go back (say the next day) there are no groups. What am I doing wrong?

I believe my photostick copied all photos ? Just as other's have said , I grouped photos in a group and named them . The next day there were no groups . I spent a lot of time just getting those few groups together only to have them disappear . It's probably too late for me to send it back . Cost me $89.00 . Thought someone from family could visit and help me fix it . Corona Happened

Q: Can you restore or transfer the photos from the photostick to another (new) computer?

I have a newer (2021) 128 GB photostick. I wanted to see what was on it. Plugged it in, found the folder, and copied it to my desktop. It worked just fine. I wanted to delete those photos, didn't need them anymore. I saved what I wanted to my computer and deleted the rest.
