Sparring Partners

I really enjoyed the latest collection of short legal stories by Grisham, one of my favourite writers. The story, " Robbery Moon " was exceptionally good.

We get to read three stories with different subject matters In the first one about the Lawyer trying to get back to his family after a long absence, Grisham has added all the emotionsIn the second story where the protogonist is facing death sentence the human touch given is too good and absorbingThe third one is the real thriller about the goings in the law firm. Makes a gripping readingA must read book for guys who enjoy law related fiction.Full marks to Grisham

Okish plots. Would not recommend and please don't have high expectations. 3 stories 2 ok one really boring. Not the best work of John Grisham.

just how your books are aligned on a shelf we get 3 thrilling John grisham stories together in one book. Grisham makes you look at the law from a different perspective. A fugitive who's also a family man with a wife who has cancer, what were his reasons to run away? It will make you think in the real world of the black area which is not always black.A 14 year old accomplice to murder, found equally guilty but the author makes us realise he is human too plus point he loves reading.This book was rather soothing than thrilling. It is certainly a thriller set of stories but with a humane side to it.

Good to read.

The first and third stories ended on a cliffhanger but I found the book interesting nonetheless.The stories are very entertaining and this book is a complete page turner.Thrill, suspense, constant action and fast pace - a perfect combination.All the characters have different stories but they find a common ground in killing people.The choice of language is perfect for creating the mood, atmosphere and tone of the book.Overall it is a perfect pick-me-up in book form.

His other books are far better.These three small works failed to hook reader to it.Not impressive.As aGrisham fan I will not suggest this book

Total waste of time and money.This book has stories that have no ending or any imagination. I feel very angry after reading them, as though John Grisham has totally stopped trying to think of a story and a narrative and how it should end.One story is literally a guy's last few hours and then it ends. What was the point of this whole book ? Just to earn money i think.Please do not waste your time reading it, it was an extremely frustrating experience for me. I think a child can come up with better stories!

All of Grisham books are looked forward to

Each story stands alone and we move from a story about a rascal with a good heart, through death row, to a Law Firm not big enough for the partners.

Gut zu lesen

I like short stories for a change and these were a good and entertaining read. Did at times seem a bit dated so could heve been written earlier and taken out of the drawer but lucky they were !!!
