This beautiful hardcover square book is filled with colorful photos of wide shot landscapes and close-up details of plants. It also includes diagrams of the gardens' layouts. There are photos taken from inside the structures that features the garden views. The details can be used in your garden or as inspiration to create your own features that work in your area. Not only are there plant features there are water and gravel elements to add interest and texture.

Everybody I've shown this book to wants their own copy. It's a beautiful edition with every page showing exquisite photographs of Japanese Zen gardens. Having read it I now have a much better understanding of what makes a Zen garden and why. I couldn't recommend it more.

I purchased this as a gift, the recipient loved it!
