Not a ‘how to’ book
Lovely book about the artist but not a ‘how to’ book. Good inspiration to get started, then look online for tutorials!

A pleasant book.
Unusual matt fabric hardback, which will, I can see, be tricky to keep clean over the years, though it looks and feels lovely.A coffee table book, as it turns out, and larger in size than the written content needed, by far. Photographs of a few other artists’ work are shown, but Ms Fox’s wild textiles abound, taking up a huge amount of space on each written page, all beautifully presented. I was left feeling a bit cheated, as while the author makes clear that she will merely be giving an introduction to different fibres and materials, I found that frustrating. Recommending taking courses or researching for oneself, is all very well, and most people will do that anyway. All in all, the book is more of a showcase for the author’s passion, industry, and patience - and there’s nothing wrong with that, except I’d expected more.

Very disappointing
I was really disappointed with this book. Some nice art work but not enough of it. Little instruction. A book of pretty pictures and empty waffle.

Great fiber related ideas!
This book is a treasure trove for the fiber folks who utilize their environmental resources in their works. Certainly will be a go-to book from my home library in future months/years.

A book filled with information
This is the book I have been waiting for - filled with detailed information on using foraged materials and different methods of preparing natural materials for use. I am thrilled with this book.

It is not a book about processing wild fibre
Not exactly what I expected. Don't get me wrong - this book is nice, good quality, photos and nice art ideas. But if you are looking for a book as a guide how to process wild fibres - it is not a book for you. Here author is showing what she has done in her art journey with wild plants, but also with stones, plastic, paper and mud. With no explanation how she did that. In the beginning there are some very short chapters about plant gathering or processing, but honestly you can gather more information while watching one 15 minutes youtube video. In this book there are some very, very, very basic information about only a few plants - flax, nettle and dandelion stems. But I, as a total beginner in this topic, already know more than I've read in this book. Author write about braiding dandelion in 3, 4, 5 or more together, but doesnt show how. She writes about weaving, but doesn't write how. I will keep it, because it is nice, but not very informative.
