My four year old has very fine hair and needs a bun for a dance recital. I tried a regular bun shaper, and her hair wasn't thick enough to cover the whole shaper. It's not horrible from far away, but the more she moves, the more it slips into clumps, leaving the shaper exposed. Since her hair is between the dark brown and light blond available, it just looks worse with time.This wigged shaper is perfect. The color matched well enough that even when her hair moves a bit, it's completely unnoticeable. I don't know if it will hold up for multiple uses once it's been bobby pinned like crazy, but it looks and feels sturdy. Very pleased, especially considering it was less than $10.Note, it does stretch out a bit, like a scrunchy, to go over the ponytail. Once you stretch it out, you just push it back together and it holds its smaller shape.

My 3 year old daughter has very fine and short hair and I was not sure how I was going to get it into a bun for her dance recital when I can hardly get it into a pony tail. This did just the trick. I did have a professional stylist show me how to use it for the first use which was for pictures but I think I probably could have done it myself the first time. After she showed me how to do it, I certainly had no problem using it for dress rehearsal and the final recital. It also blended well with her hair which is a lighter brown/dark blond color but this darker color I think made the bun look more full.
