My 5 year old daughter loves it!
This is a fun arts & crafts project. I only wish it came with more than 2 templates. However, you can buy other Paperoni kits that are cheaper and come with templates and more paper things. :) I would recommend this product to anyone who has kids that loves arts & crafts!

Loved it! (and my four year old did, too!)
I purchased this for my four-year old. We do a lot of crafty projects together and I wanted to get something that she could either use on her own or we could do as a team.I wasn't expecting much, since most kids craft kids are not great quality, but I was surprised to find that I really love this toy. It comes with a little hand-operated gizmo that cuts long paper straws (which are provided) into smaller pieces. You use those "stubs" of Paperoni to "color in" a design in a 3-D fashion, creating a little sculpture. I guess I would compare it to Perler beads, in a way, except instead of heating the Paperoni to make them adhere, the designs the kit comes with have adhesive on them already, so you just stick the Paperoni to them and it's all done. The kit also comes with lots of pre-cut Paperoni pieces, as well as easy-to-use plastic tweezers designed for little hands, and a baggy full of different embellishments (eyes, stickers, jewels, etc.) to use to decorate your completed Paperoni sculpture. The kit kept my daughter busy for at least an hour yesterday- she easily used the cutting gizmo to cut the Paperoni to different lengths and then used the tweezers to place the "Paperoni" on the provided designs. After we completed the two animals that came with the kit (a mouse and a lion) we had two finished Paperoni sculptures and a lot of extra paper straws, and pre-cut "Paperoni" left over to complete our own designs. I found the Paperoni website and printed out several more designs on cardstock, and I'll use my Xyron machine to apply adhesive to it. But you can also use glue to stick the Paperoni pieces to your image and I bet that it work just as well as the adhesive. A glue stick would work well, too.The things I don't like about this kit are that it comes with too few designs- I found printable ones on the Paperoni website, but it would have been nice if the kit came with a handful more since there's so much Paperoni pieces and decorations left over.I also don't like that the finished objects are not durable- if you mess with them too much, the Paperoni pieces will come loose. They are really meant to be admired, not played with, and that sort of disappointed my daughter. It's also a no-mess craft, with no runny glue, no tiny bits of pieces flying all over the place, no wet paint. A few pieces of Paperoni escaped the desk, but they were so easy to just pick up and toss.I really like that my daughter was able to do a majority of the project on her own, but I was able to "play along" without feeling as if my brain was being dragged out of my ear by boredom and repetition. It's a nice kit for younger kids, and with a little help from mom, dad, or an older sibling, it's a fun toy for any pre-schooler.

I thought this would be a dud, but my 9 yr old loves it. I like that she has to read and follow directions in order for the project to turn out correctly. She loves this!

Cute idea...
Bought this for my 9yr old daughter, and while it is a cute idea that could be fun, I'm gonna have to agree with some other reviewers that the adhesive is garbage! If the paper pieces would actually stick then it would be great, but they don't, so it's a bit of a dissapointment.

This is JUNK!
What an absolute dissapointment. I just threw the lion in the trash. This is ridiculous. The sticky stuff on the Lion body form is NOT sticky enough. I hope my daughter doesn't want to try to make the mouse now. She even got sick of it quickly, you cannot make the papers stick to the form long enough to complete the project. As with other reviewers this would not hold up to even sit on a shelf. Totally dissappointed. Both my daughters aged 6 and 8 do not like this. SAVE YOUR MONEY.

Not worth the money.
I bought this for my 5 yr old, who loves arts and crafts. She loved the paper cutter, but if you push on the paper roll down in the cutter it moves the dial and will change the paper size. So we constantly had to keep checking the paper size.Pros: Paper cutter was fun for my daughter. Mess free arts and craft project.Cons: Only comes with 2 templates. You have to continue to spend more money to buy more. The templates are stick, like tape so the paper will stick on them. Once you make your design, such as the lion or the mouse, you can't play with it because the paper that sticks to the template will fall off. There is nothing fun to do with the design once completed. It can be frustrating as you put all these little rolls of paper together, some of them fall off the the template and you have to try to re-stick them on . At least pixos, they could play around them, hang them on a window or refrigerator. Bottom line: Don't waste your money to buy an arts and crafts project that at your child can't play with. You will then end up having to pick up these small rolls of paper from the floor.
