Hybrid Solar Power Lantern Yellow

Found this lamp in a corner of the Yosemite general store in these really beat up looking boxes. They looked so sad and we needed a lantern so badly because (it started raining buckets throughout our trip and) all of our light sources had run dry. There's no solar charging when there is no sun and we packed few batteries thinking we would have the sun. We brought one at first just to try it and out of the box, it lit up brightly. It lasted throughout the night on the stored charge alone so we had to get the other one. These were great investments and the price was similar to what I am seeing on this site for about $30.The lamp can be charged by plugging it into a wall socket, car charger or sunlight. A little orange light tells you when you have enough sun to charge with. I'm a newbie emergency preparedness freak (After 9/11, Hurricane Sandy, witnessing the destruction of Katrina and now living in earthquake country, I want to be prepared.) My camp buddy and I each took one. I have one in my go bag and I am ordering one to keep in the home.The biggest surprise was how nice it was to do business with this company: Hybridlight. I either didn't notice and tossed out or the lamp didn't have the adapters in the beat up looking box. I emailed them telling them where I got the product and the circumstances thinking I would just buy the missing parts. To my surprise they were so kind as to send them to me free of charge!!! I am a customer for life!Great product, great company and it's nice that Amazon has this product on sale!

I like the power source, sunlight and rechargeable batteries. It is small but mighty. Great for emergency power outage. I wish it could be brighter.

Nice lamp! great light power. Bought a second one and was surprised to receive a smaller lantern. Wouldn't have been a problem,if it would have worked. Unfortunately the lantern never charged on solar power. Manufacturer never addressed my issue.

I am buying and testing these solar lanterns to see which ones really emit the most light and last the longest. Now this lantern is brighter than the Dlites but it starts to fade to nothing in an hour if using solar power only. I would not recommend this lantern to anyone who expects more from the solar aspect. On the other hand, the battery last a long time and stays bright. But I bought a solar lantern didn't I?

This was much more compact than I was expecting, but it puts out alot of light. It appears to be working welll, and I'm pleased with the purchase.

I ordered this lantern because we have a lot of power outages, it shipped so fast, I had this light I think in 2 days after I ordered, just in time for a power outage, it's a bright little light, and it has a battery backup, I am very pleased with the purchase of this light, it will actually charge itself back from any light, I set it in the window and it charged even though the sun wasn't shining, overhead lights will recharge and it comes with a charger that you can plug in.

This has a combination of two great ideas. LED light that is Solar powered, and a back up battery ability. I leave this set in the window of my office. When the sun or light is out, it charges. I can see a small read light indicating that it is getting charged.It does not require tons of light, just day light. The top of the unit is solar paneling.Now to the switch. It has 3 positions, Off, Solar power showing you are using the sun charged portion, and a 3rd position showing you are getting the power from the regular batteries. The only thing that could make it better is a hand crank, but it is on stand by and charging by day, and even if I left it on and drained out the solar charge, the flick of the switch and I'm on battery power.Cost effective, bright, easy to understand. Compact, lite, decent price.Have not tested the waterproofing but the switch is rubberized and seems sealed.

I like that this lantern is tent-safe and has two power sources: a battery and solar-power. It's nice to have a back up lantern in case we unexpectedly run out of propane for our other lantern, however it isn't as bright as I expected.

I have been looking for a lantern like this for a very long time. Much harder to find than one would think. I wanted something that runs off solar and had a battery as backup. But I was specifically looking for no more than 4 AA batteries for backup (I have my reasons).Not only is this lantern exactly what I am looking for, it works GREAT !!Highly recommend it.
