Its a perfect remote control speedboat!
The media could not be loaded. This boat was really alot of fun to control it and goes really fast, Its great for the lakes and I would make sure everyone buys marine tape to secure the cabin hatch so if it flips the top canopy doesn't come off and the boat will sink!

Needs a lot of work
I have other RC boats that cost less and are far superior. 40 mph no way. the box even says 55 kph which is 32 mph. The boat is ok but has a few design flaws. First the cooling water pick up needs to be on the bottom of the boat not on an outboard attachment near the rudder. It's out of the water too much and causes aeration of the cooling water which is why it runs so hot. The battery hold down is a joke and it only has 1 closing latch for the cover which isn't tight enough. The remote control sucks at best. It doesn't respond to rudder trim controls, the out of range signal and well as the low battery signal doesn't work at all. I almost lost it twice. Fortunately I had one of my other boats and was able to retrieve it without going swimming. Alt air has a far superior boat for just over 100 and has an approx run time of 20 min. Rethink purchasing this boat until changes are made. Only ran once but still sending back

Works great! About 6 sessions, and 10 battery cycles still runs good!
This boat has been a really fun addition to taking our real boat out on the lake! The water cooled components never overheat, even maxing the throttle very often, battery is a bit short but I get easily 40 minutes of run time with just 3 fully charged batteries. The range is also great! I can take it easily 50 feet away from the boat and still have full control. My only 2 complaints are its pretty easy to flip, considering the design, and I haven't clocked it going 40mph as advertised, it's more like 30, maybe it could do 40 MAX on a brand new battery, potentially an over volted one and not a single ripple in the water. But since I have the 11.5v batteries and a realistic lake to cruise on, it really only gets up to low 30mph when tracking it at the same speed as our GPS monitored boat. Over all really fun, and I'm sure upgrades would turn this thing into an absolute beast!Ps I like the little rubber bilge plug you can remove to drain the water from inside.

Very fast , very fun
This thing is amazing, it will get gone real quick like. No reverse but esc can be swapped out easy with one that goes reverse

Still having fun - No problems so far with this boat.
The boat flat moves! We have had a blast running it. Have had it out 15-20 times and have not had any issues.Battery life is great - Our 15 year old boys run it flat out and still get 10-15 + minutes of hard use. Bought a second battery and just swap it out and keep running. Have not had any overheating - cleared the water cooling tube 1x when some pond scum was blocking it a bit (hot sure I needed to but I did). The boat flips over - but the self righting works fine.Drive line - based on a couple of the reviews, this was a concern of mine - Checked an line and saw a recommendation to pull and lube the shaft after every use... I do this before I put the boat in the water each time/weekend we are at the cabin - but NOT after each use. Have been using the boat pretty consistently for about a year and have had no issues. Was a little unsure after reading a couple of the reviews - we do not have an RC shop close enough to just run over and ask the staff about/pick one up but decided to take the plunge after trying some of the smaller and cheaper boats out there. We were a bit concerned that this might not be the best boat after reading a few of the reviews, but we took the time to google some of the issues and saw what we thought were reasonable responses/fixes and everything seems to be working fine after 10-12 uses.

Good potential, but lackluster quality & no auto-right...could be great with an overhaul
Was very excited to get this boat to try my first catamaran. I'd hoped this one performed better than the Arrow 5 that I tried (which also broke before this one). Here's what happened:1) The atomic screams...literally. That motor is a bad mamjama. Out of the box though, it had issues w/ either the transmitter or esc. I'd go full throttle and the throttle would cut out. Think it may have been a loose receiver so brought it back to shore and tried pushing them down. Could tell the connectors weren't high quality, and likely the problem. So pushed it down into the receiver as much as I could. It ran better for 30 seconds or so before it flipped, but can't say for sure that fixed it, but there was exposed wire where connector met wire.2) When it flipped, I realized that, sadly, there is no autoright function. If you're patient and there is no wind...the motor is powerful enough to actually blow your boat back to shore if it's not to far/rough.3) I will say I really liked how the catamaran handled versus the v-hull. The arrow's v-hull had an issue with diving if the water was at all rough like on bigger lakes/ocean, and even w/ it's double hull, water got into the electronics and shorted it out. It's almost like the boat would drift like a car on the water and it actually turned a lot sharper than the v-hull. It was also a lot more stable...but not perfect. I still ended up flipping it.4) The motor revs to the moon, which may actually be a drawback. It's almost like the hull needs to be an inch or so lower in the water. The drive shaft isn't straight, which could allow some play w/ the prop's trim. A simple screw adjustment that changes the trim of the prop could be helpful.5) Remote was better than arrow's with more adjustability and controls. Little bit better quality as well.Overall, it wasn't a bad boat, but there's a few design flaws that need to be addressed:1) Needs more waterproofing. When it flipped, a lot of water got in the hull. The arrow was definitely better in this category with all of the vulnerable points coated in plastic dip or waterproof material.2) They should def. consider a double hull design. The arrow top hull did fly off at one point in rough water (and actually sunk if you can believe that!), but the double hull definitely kept far more water out than the atomic's single hull.3) IMO...all rc boats these days should have some type of auto-right feature. I thought they just had the feature by default. I think the catamaran design that gives it more stability also causes this issue w/ auto-righting. With the range these things have...you could be looking at a good 10-15 minute swim this thing capsizes a good distance from you.
