Good price, works great, solid product with POE available
I'm not using POE right now but opted for this to have it as an option if I need it later, for something like a camera system, for example. I also thought about getting the 8 port model but only got this one because it was a super low price at the time, and I already had an 8-port model so I had plenty of ports but just needed this in a new location. This having POE available gives it a lot of versatility. Being 1GB makes it feel future proof for a while at least, for me in home usage.Physically it is the same size as some of the same branded 8-port models, so if you might want 8 ports, keep in mind you won't be paying a size penalty for that. It's like this one has some extra air space inside it. That's fine with me, though. If I ever need to stack them together they'll be the same size, which isn't very important but I don't mind it as a benefit.Comes with a good sized power brick with a cord on both ends so it's not blocking and hogging your power strip.

Eliminating need to run second security cable
While upgrading my security system I wanted to add two LOREX 4K 30FPS security cameras to a shed in the back yard. Three years ago I ran a single under ground CAT6 cable for one 1080p security camera from the shed to the house and through the attic to the NVR in the den on the opposite side of the house. I had already wired the shed for electricity. The NETGEAR GS305P PoE Gigabit Ethernet Switch provided support my two LOREX security cameras (LNB9232s & LNB9272s) without need for a second cable run. The cable run from the NETGEAR switch to my router is approximately 160 feet. The new LOREX 4K ULTRA HD NVR identified the two cameras in the network and I added them to the NVR assigning a separate port to each. The NETGEAR switch is working great, the security camera pictures are amazing and it avoided running another underground cable or trying to find a wireless solution. A great solution for amazing price.

Easy install, POE cameras work perfectly
Simple unmanaged switch, the solid construction makes these my switches of choice. Installed the switch using provided screws/holes and plugged up two Reolink POE cameras, all working no problems.

Works Well, Easy Set-Up
Needed this gizmo to hook up some office computers to the ethernet cable without installing a new switch in the wall. Installation was quick and it works well. The Amazon price was also better than if the office had had to purchase it through a distributor.

Best PoE Switch for Security Cameras
So far I've had this product for around 6 months. Here is what I can gather about it:Pros:Had this device up and running withing 30 secondsRuns with two cameras and a access pointNo dead ports on arrivalSturdy metal constructionCons:Runs pretty hot in a non-air-conditioned roomNo usb portsSeperate AC to DC adapter (Just not ideal for my situation)----So far this product has survived many storm surges in my area and has held up longer than the Tplink 5 port poe switch. All in all I would recommend this product to any homeowner trying to run cameras or access points.(08/22/19)Will update if I have any issues

Great little switch for the price
This was used to connect my security camera's in my garage. I have a powerline adapter to the garage and this powers my cameras and had no issues powering up and running my TPLink POE access point as well. I had some issues with other PoE switches not powering the access point for some reason, but this one works perfectly.

Works as described
Must have if you are using PoE security cameras. No setup required just connect to your router and start plugging in devices. Keep in mind it doesn't take long to use up 4 ports. There is a model from Netgear with 4 PoE and 4 regular ports.
