Not warm enough as stand alone mitts
The personal note and card was written with great care and they even included a bit of Christmas chocolate. I would give your customer care a 10/10, which is why it pains me to give your product a 2/5.When you work at night in the winter in the coldest climates that Wisconsin, North Dakota, & Upper Peninsula has to offer, or if you work in a cold refrigerator shed where it gets to 20 below, you find out real quick which mitts keeps your hands warm, and which don't.Riparo Waterproof mitts work ok, Klondike Chopper mitts work well, but all the best mitts that really kept my hands warm all had one thing in common. They were waterproof & airtight. I don't know why most manufactures advertise evaporating moisture away from your hand. This is actually bad. You need to water proof them to keep moisture from getting in or out. When you sweat, the hottest water particles evaporate taking warmth away from your body making you colder. With waterproof mitts your hands will get a little moist from sweat but they WILL stay warm. A little bit of uncomfort is better than frozen hands. This is from some one who worked for 4 years in cold climates in relative comfort while others who had expensive mitts had their hands freeze. Best gloves were thick cotton with a thick coat of pvc.In my experience I just don't believe there is a balance between insulation and breathability in really cold weather. I do however want to switch to all natural materials as avoiding chemicals is generally good for your health. I may try to order another (smaller) pair and layer both inside of an all natural leather liner. This should make them thicker, more insulated, & stop the cold wind from blowing through the porous fabric.I do like the fact that that your mitts are all natural and you seem to put a lot of effort into caring for both your product and customers. For that I am grateful. I am open to criticism so please leave any comments below. Thanks.

NOT EXTRA WARM - In fact, not everyday warm.
The mittens arrived as ordered - I gave them as a Christmas gift to a family member. In New York City, we have recently had a cold snap. I wondered why my son was not wearing the new mittens. He gave them to me to wear to work. Unless an additional purchase was required, the mittens allowed a New York City wind to easily penetrate the weave. Was I supposed to buy liners? It's only January!! What then?

I have to wear a compression glove on one of my hands which causes my hand temperature to drop, which is a dangerous problem in the wintertime. These mittens absolutely keep my hand warm though I agree with other reviewers that the length up the wrist is entirely and unnecessarily too long. Winter coats are now made with long cuffs that grip the wrists, and the double layer of the mitten cuff and the coat cuff can be quite uncomfortable for circulation to the hands as well as just constricting. Aside from that, these mittens are AWESOME.BUT the thumb on my special hand, which I keep in my pocket nearly all of the time when I'm out in cold weather, came unraveled on this pair and the orange pair. It's a mystery why, but the WONDERFUL PEOPLE AT DACHSTEIN replaced my mittens immediately.

The Best wool mittens
These are no nonsense mittens to keep your hands warm. They are made of boiled wool and work in moderate cold. Dachstein also makes really heavy duty gloves suitable for the coldest days an I own a pair of these also, but they are not as pliable as these 3 ply mittens by the same maker. Wool retains warmth even when wet. They are made well and do not wear easily.

Great mittens, great company
Great mittens! Quality and workmanship are excellent. Shipping was fast. The Christmas/thank you card and chocolate were a pleasant surprise, who does that! My new favorite seller!

The mittens that "fit like a glove"
These keep my hands warm, and they are comfortable (not too tight at the wrist, but snug). They are fairly thick and soft, for wool.Caution: These are rather difficult to use when trying to pick things up or use your hands, because, well, they are mittens, not gloves, and wool offers very little traction or friction. (I could not drive with them on, for example.) I expected this, so I am not complaining. I'm simply pointing it out.

Hard to find good mittens for grownups
Hard to find good mittens for grownups. Keeping fingers together helps keep them warm even as you suffer some loss in dexterity (compared to gloves).
