These are really good and fun to use.

Very impressed by the quality of the product, but more impressed by the additional personalized items included for my location. Additionally, links to customizable items to meet any adventure.

For folks who still like to use map and compass instead of GPS for backwoods navigation these are an inexpensive addition to your kit. What you get is a set of 4 rulers in common map scales used for back country navigation. On one side of each ruler are markings for miles and kilometers on the other side are markings for minutes and seconds in two different scales. This kit comes in a plastic case with a pamphlet on how to use your rulers. I usually don't need to know my lat./long. in the field but just for grins I used the minute/second scale on a 1:100,000 map to see how close I could get to calculating the lat./long. at my location. After calculating the lat./long. using the ruler and map I compared this to where the GPS said these coordinates were. I was within 250 feet of that location. Not bad for just goofing around. You usually need a straight edge of some kind for working with a map so you might as well have one that doubles as a distance measuring and location finding tool.

Good map tool. Using it with Map Reading and Land Navigation: FM 3-25.26. Great practice tool and the set makes sure that you have the most common sizes available.

Awesome set of rulers! Flawless graduations! Originally I was seeking only the 1:24,000 but at the price I didn't pass it up. They went into my map pack immediately. You can't go wrong with products from Map Tools!

Very valuable. If you don't have a UTM ruler with your GPS AND topo map, you really don't know where you are.You can be 100 yards from a spring and not know it and not know how to find it. It saved me in southern Utah with 55 miles of slot canyon red rock trails that had dozens of canyons all looking the same. But I found THE canyon I needed to exit to my car! do NOT leave home without it AND LEARN to use it before you go.

I just purchased a full size 7½ minute 1:24 map from the USGS. The markings on the ruler matched the printed scale markings on the map exactly. That is, these rulers were made with spot-on precision.So yeah, get these and you're good to go.

Great quality! Not much more to say. They are simple map rulers and they do the job.
