Great album. Very different original and stunning music.

i just love the song wicked game that's it

A young artist with talent but still struggling to find her voice. There are some songs where she shows real brilliance and depth with post effects uses her voice as an instrument as she did in wicked Game and Primary Colours. Then there are other songs with what can only be described as a techno disco which is shallow and trite. There are a number of songs that also show a classical base but I don't know enough to attribute that to her or just a very savvy arranger. Having said that though, she is defintely an artist to watch and see how she matures.

If you've played Sleeping Dogs you've probably heard 'Drop the Other' by Emika on their radio stations. This is how I figured out about Emika. And buying that game was well worth finding this artist alone.Emika says in one of her interviews "I don't like to put my music in a category because I don't really know what the categories mean." She proves that music doesn't need a category... This album is a perfect example of 'something different' and it is absolutely beautiful. If you are a fan of almost any type of electronic music, please give this a try.

A great mix at a great price. From the operatic opening track to the moving Dem Worlds to the great cover of Wicked Game. A song for every mood and a voice to die for. This album will hook you in and never let go. Buy it now!

Ein Bomben-Album! Fast ausnahmslos starke Songs, neue Electro-Ideen und insgesamt die konsequente Weiterentwicklung des auch schon schönen ersten Albums.Die Stimmung erinnert ein wenig an Polica: elektronisch, düster, abgründig, aber die Stimme immer cool, immer beherrscht. Dazu als Konstrast wuchtige, starke, leidenschaftliche Beats und Synth-Pop-Elemente à la Ladytron, was eine faszinierende Spannung erzeugt."She beats" hat mich beim ersten Hören umgehauen, aber mit der Zeit entfalten sich auch andere Songs, auch an "Young Minds" oder "Centuries" finde ich einfach keine Kritikpunkte und kann mich nicht satthören.Die Stücke sind effektvolle, durchdachte Kompositionen, die sich Zeit nehmen, auftürmen, entwickeln. Aber alles sitzt, wirkt durchdacht und ausgereift. Da weiß jemand, was er tut, was er will, wie er es erreichen kann und scheut sich nicht, das konsequent zu tun. Gerade die Sounds und Beats sind dabei wirklich sehr eigenständig und innovativ, immer konsequent, ja fast schon radikal, was mich persönlich an Crystal Castles und The Knife erinnert. Dass Emika dennoch leichter verdaulich ist, liegt an der ruhigen, unaufgeregten Grundstimmung und der glatten, ein wenig dünnen, poppigen Stimme, die in meinen Augen fast das schwächste ist, aber umso wirkungsvoller kommt der Sound zur Geltung. Denn der holt einen wirklich ab! Fazit: Eine tolle Mischung, ein starkes Album und für Freunde elektronischer Musik auf jeden Fall einen Versuch wert.

Non conoscevo questa cantante finché non l'ho ascoltata su radio Life gate e mi ha attratto subito. Il brano in questione era "sing to me", ma ascoltando il cd anche gli altri mi sono piaciuti molto. Diciamo che l' appetito vien mangiando! Consigliato. Se cerchi rock, o altri generi simili passate ad altro.

Habe für ca. 20€ diese Doppel-Vinyl im schönen Klappcover im Ausland über Amazon gekauft. Beide Vinyls sind außerdem als 180gr. Version gepresst worden. Der Klang ist auch top.

Album carino, conoscevo qualche pezzo che non trovavo male, ed infatti sono gli unici che si salvano veramente dell’intero album..

Hierzu gibt es nicht viel zu sagen: Ein durchgängig hörbares Album, die Stimme ist der Hammer und ich habe große Freude daran. Landet ziemlich oft in meinem Player. Danke hierfür!
