Magic Stack-N-Whack Quilts

Great book and it was just like new.

Oh, I love this book!I saw the Stack and Whack concept on YouTube, and just HAD to get the book! The concept is so simple, anyone can do it who has a rotary cutter and some pins, and time to let the book walk them through the process.I will give you one hint, though -- I started with equilateral (60-degree) triangles. Had I known then what I know now, I'd have started with right-angle (square) triangles. They are so much easier to work with on a grand scale -- the equis only come out with straight lines right, left, and across. The right-angles come out with squares. To get a square with the equis, you have to make jagged edges either sides, or top-and-bottom, and cut them down to a straight edge. I would rather have saved that for a later project. But what I'm getting is beautiful.Actually, what I WILL GET is beautiful. I set it aside, am making a halloween quilt of squares using odd techniques like square piecing and applique, and will come back to the equis later. When I have more patience.But back to the book. Get it. Read it. Try it. You'll love it.

This book shows how to make this particular type of 8 part stack and whack block.

If you have ever wanted to do a stack n whack style quilt this is the book for you. It is definitely a style and technique that is different, reminiscent of kaleidoscope toys from child hood. Bethany Reynolds makes these quilts easy to make with her clear instructions. Step by step details take you through each quilt and the book has several designs, depends on which angle you cut and how many pieces. I highly recommend this book for intermediate beginner quilters and up.I have two recommendations though if you want to make these quilts. One, invest in a basting gun. It is easier for stabilizing the fabric to be cut than pinning and much quicker than the needle and thread basting technique. The other thing, a hinged mirror. This is a special little tool that you can use to see if your fabric will make some cool designs for the blocks. Not all fabric is suitable for this type of quilt and the author gives you hints on picking fabric. Also, be prepared, due to the use of the repeats and the way the fabric is cut for the blocks, these quilts use a lot of fabric. More so than other types of quilts, but in my opinion, well worth it.

I was a little hesitant to order since it was a used book. It arrived very quickly, in very good condition. Loved to save the money!

It was very informative. Made two different ones. One using the calculation so every square was unique and the other where I used the repeat length inorder to create 4 unique patterns squares multiple times. I used the 3/8" seam instead of the 1/4" seam and found it made it easier to put the pieces together. I now know what to do with my "ugly" fabric ;>)))

This book was a journey. There was a problem, but the seller was just so easy to work with. When the book showed up the patterns are so beautiful that I can't wait to get started. I would most definitely purchase from this seller and happy with my book.

I am very pleased with the book, but really amazed at the service I received. The book is written and illustrated in a way that I think I can make this quilt without getting additional instruction elsewhere. This book is absolutely fantastic. Great explanations of how to do. Great pictures.Can’t go wrong if wanting to do Stack-N-Whack quilting.

Very clearly written but may be very challenging

Me gusta lo que puedes desarrollar con la técnica descrita, fácil de seguir al estar bien detallado. No me gusta que no sirvan en Europa las herramientas necesarias, Reglas, Triángulos, etc.
