After considering both George L and Lava Cable Kits, I chose the Planet Waves Cable Station (primarily because of the difference in price, even though I DO NOT skimp on my gear-EVER)-and I'm happy that I did! First, let me say, I am generally somewhat "challenged" when it comes to anything requiring mechanical skills, but I found this to be extremely easy to use and had my entire board put together within about 60 minutes with custom-length cables that look great and are performing well for me on my Pedaltrain Jr. Pedalboard. No failures whatsoever- cutting and putting everything together was really simple-the included small cable cutting tool worked very well as well. If you can use a small screwdriver and a tape measure (to determine needed cable length), I believe that you, too, will have success with this kit.

Stopped working after transported my pedalboard.Pros: Plugs look solid and great. Wired about 10 cables for my switcher. Ease of making the cable simple. I like the screw to hold the cable in place.Cons: no physical feedback or sound to show that they were seated properly. Tested 10 cables I made at home, then transported my board to my practice space and 2 out of 10 stopped passing signal and 4 more would cut out after being jostled.I like the look and ease of use but if you plan on gigging with these please go with a different brand. Unfortunately I do gig regularly so I am now out over $100 plus another roughly $60 for extra plugs.

this is a great way to get a lot of custom length cables for a low price. They do take a few minutes to assemble but the result is a high quality instrument cable that can take a beating and lasts a long time. I haven't had any of these go bad on me, in the same amount of time I've had 3 or 4 pre-made cables that were much more expensive (even a monster cable) start shorting out and needing replacement.A few tips: When using the cigar cutter thingy to cut the cable, don't twist or get fancy, just chomp straight down. Then unscrew the one screw in the tip till you can't see it anymore when you look in there, and push the chomped cable in all the way, give it a good 360 turn still pushing hard, till you feel it "seating" itself against the leads inside. Then screw that little screw all the way in till it pushes right through the cable you just inserted and the screw can't go in any further, not because of the cable but because it's really and truly all the way in. Then test your cable before you get too happy about it, if you did it wrong then cut again, it works better than trying to re-seat the cable. After 2 or 3 you'll stop making mistakes and they'll all work the first time. Then come up with a storage system for your extra cables, you'll finally have more than you need.

I bought these to create different length cables for my guitar rig. These are very easy to assemble and they seem to hold up well (Only had them for a few months though). The connections seem extremely solid and durable. I have bought the pedal board kit as well and what I've found is that I can use more of the connections. I have extra cable left over and I cannot find where to order just the connectors for a reasonable price. Its far cheaper to order the kits and have leftover cable. I bought from Amazon.com for the cost savings. Other places charge up to twice as much for this kit, but if you can get it inexpensively I feel its a great product and worth the cost. I gave it a 4 because the connectors are a tad bit bulky for my liking and because I feel I could have squeezed out a couple more cables if I have more connectors. Great product though! Seems to retain the signal very well as far as I can tell.

I've been using this kit to wire my pedalboard for about a year now and have had no issues. I was able to cut the cables to the exact length that I need with the cable cutter, and it was easier than I expected to get the jacks on the ends with the included flathead.I am still impressed with the sound quality as I've experienced little tone loss through lots of pedals and cable. I'm not easy to please when it comes to that, but these cables deliver.As far as build and sound quality goes, no issues at all; however, the kit as a whole is way too bulky. The cable is too thick, making it a pain to organize your board. It doesn't flex and bend well and it's very tough to fit into tight spaces. The jacks are quite big as well, making it impossible to get two pedals close enough together for my liking.If you want reliability and good sound quality, this kit can deliver. If you want your board to look tight and neat, it won't happen. I'd prefer to have the best of both worlds.

Excellent solderless kit for guitar gear. Connectors are very solid feeling. Assembly is very easy. I had 4 cables assembled in no time. I did a lot of research before buying this kit. Anyone really into guitar gears knows all the endless debates about cables. This kit I would say is the best performance for price option. No bragging rights of the $100+ bands but will work for almost all real world situations.

Bought this to use with my new PedalTrain pedal board, and the cords are still working great a year later! I'd never used one of these cable kits before, and I found it to be pretty straightforward.I created enough cables to use all the heads, and I only had a bad connection for one of them. I simply unscrewed it, pulled it off the cable, cut new cable, re-seated, and I was good to go. Used them mostly for custom patch cable lengths, though I did make one long cable. It's holding up just fine!Only downside is I have a lot of cable left and wish I had more heads/a cheaper way to buy more heads.

Noisy and some of the plug ends did not work. Also the cable sometimes does not want to fir into the plug.My own fault for trying to save money.

Wish they were cheaper, I'd replace all my cables

Made all my lead's for my guitar FX helix & headrush pedal board's to Amp's.& I love the quality of the plug's & cable.I was so impressed I bought a 2nd kit.So I've peace of mind my cable's are all good.I do recommend you use a test light or multi Meyer to get it right on the 1st build.I had no problem's at all with using this kit.And my lead's are all the length I need Not Bought 5ft when 3 ft is needed.Very happy

You can feel the quality when you hold the components in your hand. I used the remaining cable to make a nice guitar cable.
