It’s exactly what I was hoping for, although I wish there was a sheet of instructions for the screw knobs. (will figure them out).I have 3 small dogs & they don’t jump on anything, so this gate will work out very nicely. I don’t consider it “lightweight” at all. It stands up nicely. By the way, I think it’s attractive & looks really nice across the Dining Room archway.Note added 12/11/18: I’m always finding new uses for this gate. My newest puppy wants the little lava stones by the gas logs. Well, that problem is solved. It’s heavy-duty & versatile. I’m so happy with it.

This gate offers an excellent solution to the problem of keeping our relatively short dogs (elderly beagles) from attempting to go up and down the slick hardwood stairs. The two end pieces of this gate can separate and without using the extension piece can span the width of the stairs (barely). By not using the extension piece, and by not interlocking the two sections (they meet at their ends perfectly), we can easily move them aside when we want to move freely without stepping over them. And where they are positioned they can't be pushed over. They are beautiful, light, short enough to step over, they hinge nicely, and they even come with padding on the bottom already installed so you don't have to take that step to protect your hardwood floor. We are very pleased so far.

Great gate for dogs under 25lbs. I have always hated crating my dogs, and prefer to let them roam around the house a little. However, I have a 15 year old mixed breed name Zelda, who has recently started showing incontinence (multiple accidents, even though she's walked several times a day). Other dog owners recommended diapers, but I hate the idea of having a dog with a pad of pee nestled up against her fur. So , Giantex to the rescue, this gate now divides our kitchen area from the rest of the house. I place 2 x large prevail underpads near Zelda's crate and she is free to roam the kitchen while were not home and at work. The accidents are inevitable but now with a little help from this gate and the underpads, the headaches are super under control.

This gate looks pretty, but it lacks function if you need to go in and out of the room frequently. It doesn't open wide enough to get through without having to also slide it out of the way. Most slider type gates slide open wide enough for you to get through, this only opens about a foot.The height is a distractor for my Huskies, but my guess is it won't be long before they figure out how to jump over it (and potentially break it) or just move it with their nose.It will be a matter of time before this just breaks down.It's going back.

I bought this as a gate to keep my 2 teacup chihuahuas confined in one room of our house. My dogs are very small, 3lbs and 4 lbs, but they are fighters and I'm happy to say that they were no match for this gate! It was the best priced wood decor gate that could block off the 76 inch opening between rooms. Also it was the right height. It's not too hard for me at 6 feet tall and in my mid 30's to step over it but that certainly won't be the case for everyone. The gate itself is ok build quality and finishing quality. It does have decent feet so it won't scratch the floor but if it were to contact the floor I think this gate would get scuffed up before the floor gets damaged. The gate does not slide easily so I wouldn't buy it if you planned to adjust it constantly. Like many other lower cost wood products you will have that strong chemical smell for the first day after unpacking but afterwards it goes away so no big deal. The finish is nice from afar but upon closer inspection you will see places where the finish is prone to peeling very easily so I don't know how this will hold up visually. Assembly is very self explanatory and if you have trouble just look at a few pictures and you'll figure it out. I give it 4 stars because it is fully functional, gives me the look I want, is priced much better than anything but I don't expect it to hold up well in the spots where the finish is pre-peeling on the spindles. Even with some peeling problems I think this is still worthwhile if you like the wood look and need to guard a wide space with a standard height gate. I wouldn't use for children or medium to large dogs.

This product works well to keep our dog on our porch without a leash. We needed to zip tie one of the sections together since we needed it to be fully extended, and it would not lock into place.Our mail carrier said it’s one of the nicest looking snd functional gates he’s seen.

It is funny what you can get a dog that is not ranked in the top 25 smart breeds to stay behindOur great dane will not pass!We are able to leave for work w/o worryHe has knocked the two we have purchased over a few times and they are still in good condition - if we are gone for hours we just put a chair next to fence - good news is he is not a dog that gnaws on woodI would like it if it was easier to slide the pieces together, but that is minor considering the benefitNow that our guy is so big I do not want him in a crate and he needs bounds - 3 wallets (w/ credit cards-driver's license), two tv remotes (crunchy and chewy), all kinds of shoes (delicious) can attest
