Ultra Light Water Resistant Packable Day Pack, by Zoomlite (Black)

I like the convenience of size when not in use, it nicely folds into the zippered pocket. I saw it in the stores and the price was almost doubled.

I don't usually gush over foldable backpacks. I've seen many of them and they have their uses and typically are quite good if you are looking to bring that extra "just in case" bag on your travels. I received this bag at no cost to me from the seller for the purpose of reviewing it. I've had it here for a couple of weeks. I've unfolded it a few times and folded it back up just to see if it continues to be easy to fold back up again and it couldn't be any easier. Some of these self storage items never manage to fit into their original shape.With this backpack, the bag that it folds into is attached to the pack. When you unfold it that bag becomes the front zippered pocket of the bag. That's the case with most of these packable bags but I wanted to mention it anyway. There is also an internal pocket but it is an open pocket which I find fairly useless. I just don't like open pockets in bags. If I was keeping this bag for myself (which I am not -- see next paragraph) I might put a velcro closure on that pocket.So, the real test of this bag came the last few days.... Every year several of us meet up for two days at the US Open tennis event. If you know anything about large scale all day long sporting events and venues you know that a) they don't allow backpacks to come in and b) your body will be aching from carrying a shoulder bag all day that is usually laden with things to drink, things to eat, hats, sunglasses, cameras, etc.... the bag gets HEAVY to drag around all day, I don't care how young you are. Backpacks are infinitely easier to schlep around. So, one of the folks in our group caught sight of this foldable pack at my house, tossed it in her shoulder bag and once she got through the gate at the open she moved everything from her shoulder bag to this pack and lugged that around for two days. This thing was stuffed full both days and both side pockets (did I forget to mention the side pockets? Yes, two mesh pockets perfect for holding water bottles) taken up with water bottles. She was in heaven. Her shoulders didn't ache as they have in years past and it was easy to retrieve things from the bag. I am not exaggerating in the slightest when I tell you that easily once an hour she sung the praises of this bag. Seriously. Her only criticism of the bag is that the zipper pulls didn't have any fabric or anything on them to make the pulls easier to find. It was a very minor quibble and on the second day I gave her fluorescent yellow rubber bands to attach to the zipper pulls. She seemed happy.The material of this bag is more substantial than many of these packable bags which is why I liked it so much. It's not heavy, just substantial.BOTTOM LINE: If you are in the market for a packable knapsack I can HIGHLY recommend this one. Well made and a good medium size. I really like it
