I have just returned from a three day visit to Assisi. This book was a wonderful, valuable companion, written in such an intimate way. I felt I had my own personal guide, who has such detailed knowledge of St Francis , St Clare and the Assisi sites and surrounding area. Her detailed knowledge was amazing and so easy to read. It is small and can be packed into a pocket or small bag,.I cannot recommend this book highly enough. If you are planning a visit to Assisi. You will not be disappointed if you take this book with you.

I was actually given this as a present before I went to Assisi and I found it invaluable - it's not only compact, but allows you to trace the life of St Francis in a very easy but informative way as you are guided around this beautiful place. It is also written in a very peaceful, humble tone - the author obviously loves St Francis - which this makes the book so apt for the subject and surroundings.
