TBF/TBM Avenger in Action

Squadron Publications quality
Squadron publications is a great source for immersive research into the model progression and development of ship, aircraft, armored vehicles etc. I am sketching a TBM for a friend in memory of his grandfather who died in WWII while piloting a TBM. I wanted to look at various action configurations and different angles. This also helped me nail down the transition date for tail markings for the particular carrier which the subject aircraft was assigned. This reference material was just what I needed. I love squadron books for plastic models and art research.

Rather good book
I feel that this is actually a rather good book on this famous aircraft. Like with nearly all newer Squadrons there are not really any meaningful operational details to speak of but on the other hand it is packed with great photos and it does give a good overview of production variants. Recommended.

bigger but not really better
60% bigger then the previous "in action", it is interesting to see British Tarpon version but otherwise foreign versions are not really presented, although in the ration of all pictures could be correct, there are no drawings showing the differencess between production variants, but all pictures seem to be new, it is also good to see some color action photos,

TBF/TBM Avenger
I feel this is a well researched and written book about the Avenger. However, I feel it tells the story of the development of the Avenger, and I don't feel it is an In Action publication like the original former format
