Thread Protector 1/2" x28 for .22LR.223 & 5.56mm 9mm (2 Pack)

These are absolute garbage and they are not made in the USA. They arrive in a package with all the information on it stating Made In China. They are poorly machined and do not look good once installed. They do not sit flush with the end of the barrel. There is a space about 1 mm from the front of the cap to the face of the barrel. False advertising and avoid at all cost! Shame on the seller for falsely advertising Made in the USA and then they ship you Chinese made garbage!

Made in China, not USA. Seller is so lazy that they aren’t even repacking these, just slapped a sticker over the original made in china label and description.1 star for sleazy practices. Thread protector isn’t great either. Sticks out way further than is needed. Buy from a reputable company who actually makes their own products here in USA.

Product not properly advertised or machined. On one end of the protector there is no threading for 3mm, then on the opposing end it isnt missed out or threaded at all. If you have a standard ar length thread you are trying to protect, these will not fit. If you wrench it on, it will destroy your threads on your rifle. This should work well for a 10/22 or similar shorter thread section assuming you put it on the correct direction. I would not have bought these had they been properly described.

The threads were cut properly, it threaded on my barrel smoothly with no tight spots, and had a solid lockup on my 1/2x28 threaded 9mm AR barrel. The knurling is nice and crisp, and is actually better than it looks in the pictures. I used a couple timing shims on my rifle to get it to stick out a little farther than normal from the handguard, but even without them it's a little longer than the shoulder-to-crown length on a standard AR barrel, which is nice as it protects the crown. I only needed one, so I have a spare, and this pair was priced cheaper than any other single thread protector I could find, when shipping was factored in. Between the price and the quality, I don't have any complaints at all.

These barrel thread protectors are perfect for both my medium weight and lightweight Delton AR rifles. They protrude enough from the end of the barrel to protect the crown and the rifling, and the knurling makes them easy to tighten, although I will still use a bit of blue Loctite to secure the threads. These are great and unpretentious for those of us who live in California and prefer to go "featureless" rather than to register. I'd gladly buy these again.PLEASE NOTE, thread protectors come in a variety of sizes. I foolishly ordered an EXCELLENT fluted thread protector in 5/8" x 24 thread, too big for my rifle. (That's OK, I firmly believe that life SHOULD be harder if you are careless!) Check your barrel diameter to ensure you order the correct size.

You get what you pay for!These thread protectors look great but they are not threaded all the way through!Both protectors are threaded at different lengths and will not fit on AR barrel like they should.I tried them in several barrels. And they just do not thread all the way on barrel.In the third photo I show a stainless steel barrel with thread protector covering entire threads.

These protectors seem to be made from free-machining alloys such as 12L steel. The ID thread tolerance is pretty loose. I was expecting something in the 3B thread class but these seem to be on the low end of the tolerance for a 2B thread. The result is a fairly sloppy fit on the barrel(s). It should be noted that these are ~0.600" in length. If you're using this for a .22RL barrel, they'll be a little too long.

Got these as spares for my 1/2x28 threaded barrels. Won't work on the two European threaded barrels. Give protection for knocks, holstering, general wear. They are spares in case original gets damaged. I put too much blue Loctite on one barrel, damaged the protector having to carefully use pliers to get it off, so wanted to get the spares. Fortunately the threads weren't damaged. I use these on my 9mm pistols with threaded barrels. My SR22 has a flash hider, so didn't need one for it. Very good protectors.
