Love this album
My vinyl came with a defect. Other than that it's a great album.

Heavy, intense, interesting - well done!
I bought this album before I had ever heard any of their earlier releases, so I wasn't comparing it to anything except itself, with no frame of reference against any early stuff. I must say, I don't know what some people are complaining about. There are only a few moments in this album where I think the song writing is not quite as good as the rest, but overall the songs are really good and interesting. Several of my friends who have heard me playing it have asked, "is this Tool?" It's got some really intense sections, and really heavy stuff. Is it strictly "doom"? No, probably not - listen to a song like "Ghosts House" and I'd agree that's not doom - but who cares? The song is awesome with great energy, great riffs, great playing, and great signing. And certainly other songs and sections are very "doomy" - slower, heavy, intense. The production is really good - very "present" and clear, very well balanced, the drums have good punch and clarity, and the guitars are heavy and clear, and the vocals are solid throughout - I really like his voice and think it suits the music and moods perfectly. Overall, to my ears, this is a very successful and enjoyable release, and it caused me to go back and get earlier albums, which I also enjoy. But this one is, again, to my ears and taste, the highest quality thing I've heard from them. The songs are mostly 4-5 minutes long, with a few longer than that. They keep things interesting with changing riffs and feels. It's heavy, it has energy and intensity, and is very well executed. Even my wife enjoyed it, because the songs just sound good! Overall, I don't know why people would complain about this (as I've seen in various places), but I guess that's why the world goes 'round - people have different tastes and what we like and dislike is very subjective. But I would definitely recommend this, and I listen to it frequently (good to work out too, as well!). Enjoy!

2 Bongs up
Yet another great record from start to finish from the high and mighty Witchcraft. I'm left wondering if Swedes know how to make bad music? On Legend, Witchcraft takes a much different approach in their sound and production. They seem to have stepped away from the 70's influenced clean guitars and shallow drum production and gone more into a heavier distortion and thicker drum sound. Oddly enough, this record reminds me at times of TOOL, and Magnus even manages to sound much like Maynard James Keenan on parts (this should tell you how different the production is compared to previous records). I'm as a big a fan as you can be of the Swedish stoner movement and the classic rock roots it seems to have risen from... but don't let the comments of the production keep you from checking out this record. The movement throughout the record is fantastic, the atmosphere is dynamic and keeps the record moving at a brilliant pace. The songwriting and essence of Witchcraft still shines despite the different tones and sound quality. I have found the drastic change in sound to be more refreshing than disappointing. I know there will be some die hards that won't like this and expect bands to recycle the same sound they fell in love with years ago. If that's you, perhaps you won't like this record and you can just wait til the new Graveyard record.

Great rock without all the screaming
This is one of my favorite albums ever! Think if Black Sabbath had a baby with Tool. Heavy riffs with some prog in there to change it up. There are too many hard rock bands now that feel they have to be louder and faster to be taken seriously. These guys say screw that, and play music very reminiscent of times past while still sounding very new. You'll see complaints about them changing their sound from the previous album, but i feel this production value makes them truly amazing. From start to finish this album hooks you in. To start, I recommend Deconstruction, It's Not Because of You, and Ghost House. Enjoy!

Welcome back Cotter.
70's rock revival is alive and well on this marvelous record. I do not understand or make out that I understand the technical aspects of music, but I do know good sounding music when I hear it and Legend by Witchcraft is exactly one of those records. IMO it is the bands best release to date. Witchcraft are often referred to as a doom metal band. I cannot find any reference to doom metal in any of their music. It sounds just like good old rock music to me. The Swedes and their thriving music industry can do no wrong, long may it last.

These people they are into Witchcraft
Much like the almighty Pentagram, Witchcraft has updated their sound. They no longer sound like they are recording in a basement. Also, they've added more heavy toned guitars than in the past. This is their Victor Griffin era Pentagram sound. They still use vintage amps so the classic sound is there, it's just more muscular than ever before. There are classic songs on this album. I'm glad they didn't try and remake their first few albums over and over. Go Listen to Graveyard or Burning Saviours if want that. This is a modern doom masterpiece.

Really cool sound from this Swedish band.
I heard one song from this band on a sampler and liked it a lot, so I decided to check out the album. Really cool melodic hard rock - not quite what I would call 'metal', but some may disagree here. I hear elements of Sabbath and Zeppelin, The Sword, maybe even a little QOTSA in there. The guitars are big and distorted, the bass is thick and grinding, and the singer's voice is sweet and melodic. An interesting juxtaposition. If you are into heavy rock, this is highly recommended.

Melhor álbum do Witchcraft, disparadamente! Uma obra prima de Stoner Metal, sem sombra de dúvidas! Talvez, um dos melhores discos do gênero! Destaque para “It’s not because of you” e “An alternative to freedom”, as melhores tracks do álbum!
