Though it's good to learn Hindi alphabets via this work book rather than learning with Romanized words, the level of the book still put too much focus on some intermediate words. I believe as an absolutely beginner, s/he is not need to know gerunds like "to persuade",etc. Instead, I think the book should focus more on daily useful sentences and words. Even I've studied for three lessons by far, I still don't know how to say "thank you", " sorry" or " How are you?" in Hindi. Besides, if there were more pictures and audio CDs( there's only one CD!), it would be helpful for me to learn how to pronounce more correctly. Last but not least, some phonetic description is not correct. Take "क" for instance, the book tells us that it's the same as [k] in "speaker". However, in English, [k] in "speaker" should be pronounced as aspirate: [kʰ], slightly different. The more similar sound to "क" should be like [k] in "sky"...an unaspirated sound, because there is another alphabet (ख) to represent aspirated one. And I think that's why it makes difficulty when learning Hindi, so many words sound the same and not easy to differentiate.

Great Hindi Workbook
I bought this workbook to go with my textbook. When I received it, the photo was different from the Amazon description and I was worried that it would be different. But it appears to accompany the Elementary Hindi book by the same author with a light blue cover (orange for the workbook). This is my favorite Hindi workbook. The pace is just right and the workbook gives plenty of opportunity to practice reading, writing, listening, speaking and translation. There are only a few small mistakes, which I find in most of the Hindi books. The Elementary Hindi is structured very much like a college course and is great for self-study.

Just the Three of Us.
This workbook is pared with the textbook, and won't be much good without it.I really liked this series. I feel it is very well put together. I wish the work books and textbook were in one, slightly larger, book. Also, the binding on them is a little precarious.

Great for Beginners!
I have taken an interest in Hindi because I am intrigued by the culture of the Indian people. I must say, this book really teaches a person to learn to read and write by it's step-by-step approach. I even bought this company's Hindi Flashcards and the workbook that accompanies this text. I would buy again (if needed). I am just hoping they make a Urdu textbook in the format like this one.

Workbook needs textbook
This work book is meant to be used with the textbook, that is the only disadvantage to this product. I wish they made that clear. Other than that this is a wonderful product for both children and adults to use to practice their Hindi.

Challenging!
This workbook must be used with the Elementary Hindi textbook, as many of the activities go with the CD ROM that is in the text book. This work book definately challenges me and is a good way to help me learn Hindi. The answers are in the back. I know I am learning more by using this workbook than I would be if I was just reading the Hindi textbook.

Good practice.
All languages take daily practice, and sometimes more discipline than I can muster on some days. The workbook helps me to rework what I am learning from the text. Helps me identify areas where I need more work.

Excellent
Excellente méthode pour débutants, très claire et progressive. Certaines parties doivent être bien entendu adaptées à un apprenant francophone puisque la méthode est en anglais et s'adresse à des anglophones.
