Perfect and secure fit—the real Otto Box ready to protect and secure my iPhone 8 once again. 😀 My previous rugged silicone back was teal, with a more rubber feel. and I liked that it stood out. This one is the dark purple, with a smooth silicone back. Has a pretty lilac protector case. I think my SAE was red — loved that color! I do wish the defender series was still available in more colors. The downside of my previous two were the plastic cover that’s pressed to turn on/off and changed screens failing in about year, and the cover overthe charging port failing. So I’ve been going without both for awhile. Recently the teal case began disintegrating. After a corner fell off I broke down and purchased this one. I’ve an active outdoor life with horses and dogs, often handling it with the dirt and grime on my hands that comes with that life.

These are the only covers I buy for my phones. They are very sturdy and protect your phone very well.

I purchased this Otterbox in March 2025 as a direct replacement for an Otterbox purchased in August 2020 to protect my iPhone SE 2nd gen phone at work and play. During those 4 1/2 years my phone experienced many fumbles and falls onto surfaces varying in hardness from wood to concrete without damage. And while the protective cover didn't keep me from dropping the phone, it did make it possible for the most part to hang onto the phone. Without it, the smooth glass surface of the iPhone was impossible for me to grasp. The Otterbox also protected my phone's screen from abrasions and the charging port connection and control buttons from debris degrading their functions. Yet with age the outer protective soft case had began falling apart, starting with the protective tabs over the charging port (used daily) and ringer silencer button (rarely used) that tore off, to sections of the border where the soft case attaches to the hard plastic case that was peeling away. Wanting to preserve the phone's integrity - charging port and controls - I've replaced the old Otterbox with a direct replacement. The Otterbox does add a significant amount of bulk to the iPhone, which hasn't been a problem with the iPhone SE as it still fits in my shirt pockets. There are specific surfaces not protected by the Otterbox: the ear speaker and backward looking camera area, the phone mic and speaker on the bottom of the phone, and the camera lens and flash area. Dust can work its way under the protective hard case in these areas. Overall, the Otterbox has been inexpensive insurance and has extended the useful life of an expensive tool, enough so that I'm replacing my original protective cover with an exact replacement.

Great Protection This is the second Otter Defender case I've purchased. First one lasted six years and endured significant abuse on construction sites I worked. This case fit my Iphone perfectly. Many complain about the three-piece construction, but its pretty easy to assemble/disassemble once you figure it out. The outer rubber layer much smaller and compact than my first one, but it looks like it should protect my phone equally as well. I highly recommend the Otter Defender Series case for reliable, long term Iphone protection.

So far I’m happy with it. The outer piece was tricky to take off, but once I got that soft part off, it was pretty easy to figure out. I’m not liking the charging port cover opening from back to front. It just makes it more inconvenient to have to hold the flap open in an awkward kind of way to plug it in. Also, the clear built-in screen came damaged. It looks like someone pushed on it while it was empty and caused a fairly long scratch. It doesn’t seem to slide around if you set it down in the car. I would say it’s almost worth the cost. Bought for my SE 2022 and it’s not too thick like I’ve seen other otter box models. Haven’t had any issues with the screen functionality.

Keeps my iPhone safe with its sturdy composition. My last otter lasted 10 years. Yes , I keep my phone that long as I hate change. makes it easy to grip and hold onto. Great product if you want long term protection and keeps your phone like new for a very long time.

The Otterbox is fantastic. It comes with a built in shield. It is very strong and attractive. Delivery was quick and easy.

It is difficult to find and OtterBox Defender case in something other than black. The teal poke-a -dot pattern is a nice change.
