Totally useless for cutting a lawn.
I purchased this Typhoon??? Hover lawn mower in good faith with the Mountfield name behind it.it can only cut a small patch of grass before the batteries give up,I won't buy from this brand again and especially battery powered and also the batteries discharge themselves when you come to use again. So it's back to electric corded or petrol mowers.Don't feel you are getting a good product because of the Mountfield name. This is another one for the scrap pile!!!!! Do not buy.

Poor battery life
This is a bit of a disappointment. I’d been considering it for ages, finally decided to go for it. But. It’s heavy to use It sticks on the slightest bump. It works ok on the flat or on a downward slope but even the slightest upward slope is tough. It pulls to one side too. I’ve used a mains electric hover and this is much harder. The battery life is poor. It does 15 minutes then stops dead. When you get the batteries on the charger they still show two out of four so are half full supposedly. It does say it’s for small lawns but 15 minutes is a tiny lawn!!It was fairly easy to assemble although the instructions are very poor. It has a ridiculous catch to hold the handle upright in parked mode. You have to bend right down and pull it outwards while pulling the handle back to get it off. It’s easy to clean underneath and easy to get to the air intake to clean it although the flimsy bits of foam round it collecting grass and debris are irritating to clean. Not recommended.

No adjustable hights for cutting, doess not fold for easy storage
This Typhoon cordless lawnmower does not do what is stated, it definitely does not glide easy or cut close to the edges.I have since been into B&Q who are selling the exact same one for £40 this cost me £160.

Great for cutting where my robomower can't get
I have used this mower to cut the areas where my Husqvarna robomower can't get to (mainly edges and corners) since May and basically it does the job I want it to do.I agree with most of the other comments:Cutting height as purchased is too high but I bought a laser cut acrylic disc 60mm diameter x 10mm thick from eBay as a spacer, drilled a hole centrally and this works well to achieve the cut height I want although I had to rotate the blade into several positions to minimise vibration. It's very hard to push in some areas (e.g. close to a wall) due to the fan not being powerful enough to hold the mower up so I pull it through these areasBattery life is sufficient for my purposes but probably not good enough for larger areas of grass.I discovered that I have to press the batteries firmly into the sockets on the mower and ensure that they click into postion properly otherwise they vibrate loose and disconnect. On balance, not perfect but OK for me

Just what I needed
The assembly instructions let this down a little but just remember all the logos point forward ! Putting it together is simple without toolsIt is light enough to lift over things and carry for a short distance: It says it is 9 Kg with the batteries, so about the same as nine average bags of sugar. It is a hover mower so it has no wheels, you will have to carry it to where the cutting startsIt cuts about a foot wide (30cm) and leaves the grass about 1/2in (2 cm) long, batteries last about 15 minutes on average. Simple to clean off with a brush. You have to push the red button and then keep the lever squeezed whilst mowing, it takes no strength. There is a delay of several seconds after squeezing the lever before anything happens. There is a red removable safety key under the battery lid.Batteries are under a nice lid and go in with a reassuring click. Batteries charge from flat after a couple of hours. Each battery has a neat row of LEDs to show the charged state of each battery when on the charger. The grey surround of the LEDs is the latch which, when pushed gently forward, will allow you to lift the battery outThe helpline phone number is all through the Q&A sections: it is not allowed on reviews - contacting them may get you a washer that will allow a shorter cutIt is ideal for my small garden, although 15 minutes does not sound long I am able to cut the area of 8m x 6m in a fraction of time of my old corded mower - all in all very pleased

ease of use
this machine does not hover so for an elderly person it is very hard to manoeuvre on the grass.I have used it once but found it extremely tiring.

Does what I want
This machine has replaced an electric and a petrol Flymo and as such it does what I wanted it to do. The up sides are it is very light and easy to put together and suites my requirements on a very steep bank over some rough(ish) ground - the old electric one would not get there safely and the petrol one gave you a coronary simply getting it there. The single biggest issue is the "cut height" as some other reviewers have mentioned and there is no way of lowering it that I can see. I would be nice if it cut to about 1/2 and inch not an inch. Battery life id ok for me but might not be so good for other folk. All in all quite a nice design, light and easy to manoeuvre, battery life poor and cut height poor - I suppose it depends what you want from a hover mower, for me it does the job for others who are lawn proud probably not.
