A33 back in business being completely wireless.
Brought my A33 back to wireless life. I have been using it with the power cord now for close to 3-years without having a good battery. Up to this point it has not been a big deal, but recently I wanted to use it where power was not available.... I looked at buying a new speaker but decided to try a new battery first. For me the battery fit just fine, no issues. If you have any fitment issues, just use a hair dryer to make the shrink tubing softer and then install it with some speed.... it will allow it to conform to the bottom cover. As far as it retaining water resistance... not a big deal for me as I use it in dry condition 99% of the time.As far as battery life, I did let it charge and used it--- got a good 3-hours out of it before the speaker started showing it was low on battery power. Compared to the original battery when new.... it is better as I can only recall the original battery lasting no more than 2-hours max. As long as it works for a couple of years, I'll be happy with that. And it is now completely portable again!

easy to install as long as you do this....
This was a piece of cake to replace. Don't let those folks who said it doesn't fit talk you out of this battery replacement. This speaker has such great sound, it's worth extending its life with a new battery. You need a T5 torx to get the 6 screws out. Then as someone else said, the side of the red wire should be towards the bottom. And then slit the plastic on the battery pack along the length of the middle on the side that meets the battery cover so the bulge in the battery cover fits.

New life for my TDK A33!
For the last few months, my four year old speaker was giving me indications of a battery that would not hold much of a charge. I contemplated replacing the unit, but I like this one. As it turned out, I got the battery, and an inexpensive torx driver set for about a quarter of the cost of the replacement speaker I was considering.I penalize it one star for the fact, as pointed out by others, it takes some modifying to fit the A33. When removing the battery, pay close attention to the routing of the wires, and the fact that the red wire exits the battery on the bottom of the unit, and the white and black wires exit toward the top. Carefully cut a slit along the length of battery pack where the plastic speaker bottom notch channel is to seat, being especially careful not to damage the red wire, which seats in the middle of the battery pack at one end. You may also need to cut a small notch in the fiber insulator that joins the batteries where the red wire exits. My unit reassembled perfectly, with the bottom fitting properly, and kickstand seating well. I found that my T5 torx worked better than my T4. You should probably have both on hand.I fully charged the batteries before turning the unit on (about two hours), and have been playing it using the battery now for a few hours with no problem! I hope this battery is still available if I need to replace it again in about four years. It's a very nice speaker, with a USB port I use for charging other devices, and I'm glad I was able to revive it!.

Battery did not charge
This was a total waste of money. Not only did the battery not charge, but it expanded and started leaking fluid by the next morning. I ended up stripping screws in the process of removing it. Thank you TDK for making T5 hex sews for this thing. :( I picked the battery on Amazon that had the better reviews. Turns out it was just junk. I guess this speaker will now be AC powered from here on out.

Does what it needs to do.
Purchased to extend my 4 year A33 speaker that wouldn't stay on without being plugged in and it does everything I need it to do. Device works perfectly again and I saved $200 on a new speaker.

Make sure it fits
It is the size and the right connector but it does not fit in the battery compartment! On the other hand it does not charge.

Incorrect Item Description - NOT Compatible with TDK A33
Once you install the Battery, the plastic lid cover does not fit properly and bulges out. You need to force the cover on and accept that the battery cover will stick out due to the battery's incorrect configuration. It does work, but should not be sold as an A33 compatible item, IT IS NOT.
