This thing rules.
If you're like me and you like playing tennis, but don't have any friends, this thing rocks! For the people claiming it doesn't spit the ball out hard enough, they are misunderstanding how to use it. It is not meant to put on the other side of the net and fire balls at you; it is meant to place 10-15 feet in front of you on the same side of the court to practice ground strokes. If you look the item up on YouTube, there are good videos on how to use it.I recommend buying the extra attachment to feed more balls into it, unless you really like stopping hitting and picking up/reloading balls every 11 shots. I used it for about 3 hours on batteries tonight, and it worked perfectly the whole time. Again, this thing rules!

Not worth it
This is not worth your time or your money buying. It worked good the first time then after that balls skip and it doesn't launch far. Will be returning.

Only small balls fit, not practice or %compression balls
Got for my 5 year old, but his balls don't fit the entrance hole. You must force them through meaning someone has to stand there feeding it defeating the whole purpose.

works but impractical without extension
The media could not be loaded. The ball machine arrived quickly, and I've tried it out. Here are my impressions:1. The price is affordable, much cheaper than big machines that cost thousands of dollars.2. The power isn't as strong as the more expensive machines, but it works for practice when placed on your side.3. Occasionally, the balls get stuck, but it doesn't require manual intervention. Skipping one or two balls, it resumes normal operation.4. Although it has four power levels, the lowest setting is very weak. I use the highest setting for practice, and the experience is okay.5. It is lightweight and can be carried with one hand, making it very convenient to transport.6. It comes with a power cord, but since most courts don't have power outlets, you need to prepare batteries. I bought four rechargeable batteries, and after fully charging them, I tested the machine. The battery life was sufficient for a long practice session. I practiced for an hour, and the battery still works.7. The feeder holds only ten balls, which are used up in maybe two minutes, requiring frequent ball collection. Practicing for an hour, I spent most of the time picking up balls than practicing.8. The machine doesn't stop when the balls are gone; it continues making mechanical movements and needs to be turned off manually.9. You can buy an extension to hold more balls and practice longer, but the extension isn't cheap either, you need to pay additional $30.Overall, although it doesn't compare to machines that cost thousands of dollars, it's affordable and good for practice. However, if you don't spend extra on the extension, it can be a bit impractical to use.

Decent product for newbie players
The media could not be loaded. I’ve recently started learning a game of tennis, and wanted to have a ball machine to be able to feed me balls to practice my strokes and volleys. First off, I want to reaffirm that this product is not meant to be placed at the other side of the net. It’s meant to be place right about at the middle line of your side of the court with you at the base line. Although it could be placed at the other side of the net if you want to practice your volleys and drop shots. When using the product as so, it’s a great tool to have the balls being thrown at you consistently so you can get more consistent with your ground strokes. Because it’s so light and portable you can easily move it to different parts of the court to practice and drill out hitting from or at different angles, and also footwork.Something to note is that the machine feeds the ball to you every 4 seconds. So if you want to simulate the rhythm of a proper rally, best way to do that is to hit the ball it feeds, and then pretend the ball is returned back to you and practice a “shadow” stroke. After that the ball will feed you the next one in the timing that your pretend opponent wouldn’t returned the “shadow ball”.Pro-tip: I suggest buying a set of rechargeable D-batteries for this machine.

Perfect for what I need it for!
I am in my mid 50s and have decided to learn tennis in a self-paced leisurely way. This is perfect for my needs. After reading the reviews (thank you all), I bought in addition to this launch machine:1) D Cell rechargeable batteries2) Extension to fit more balls ($29) - now the set up fits 26 balls, which is about a 2-minute launch.3) Ball hopper - picker upper so I don't strain my back picking up balls. Yes it takes longer to pick up the balls than hitting them, but that's the pace I need.4) Pressureless balls which are sturdier for these ball machines and potentially can last me a year of practice. On the court, you put the launcher on your side. And now my aim is to consistently hit over and into designated areas I desire - I continue to improve. It has been raining, so I set this thing up in my lower level (more than 14 feet of space) and practice hitting to certain areas (walls). You can buy a net that's customized to this machine - but right now, I don't have a large enough area to put it. So that will be a future.I am grateful for the fun this little machine gives me.
