Elephant & Piggie Bundle

I love these books, and so does my first-grade daughter! Mo Willems is brilliant and we love all his books, but the Elephant & Piggie series has been especially great for building her self-confidence in reading aloud. There's a lot of repetition throughout the book, so if she gets stuck on a word and needs help when it first comes up, she generally has it nailed by the end. I also love that Willems gives great visual clues for the kids for putting emotion into their reading. My daughter is also getting better about paying attention to punctuation when she's reading thanks to these books because there is often essentially the same sentence on different pages but on one it will be a question and the next will be an exclamation.The best part is they make my kid laugh, and she's excited to read them aloud. Her school librarian recommended them to us initially, and after borrowing several of them from the school library, I was delighted to buy the bundle for our home. And it's not just my kid who loves them; the school librarian told me they get checked out as soon they come back in, and there are some younger kids who have cried when they discovered all the Elephant & Piggie books were checked out.

My grand niece is not wild about reading. But her mother told me she loved these.

Mo Willems writes fun to read, funny and often heart-warming stories that we cannot read often enough. The Elephant and Piggie books are unbelievably smart for books written at a level that is obtainable for new readers. So much is said in a few well chosen words and hilarious pictures that let you know that you are in on the joke! We loved the Knuffle Bunny books, adore the Elephant and Piggie books and are never let down by anything new that he puts out. And we are very happy that he has reoccurring characters who we are familiar with and love. I think these books are ground-breaking in the way that Seuss displaced Dick and Jane and I hope Mr. Willems keeps them coming!

Bought this set for my grand daughter. As soon as she got them she sat right down to read them

My 4 year old grandson loves these books! He loves to read as Piggy with his "Piggy" voice. Mo Willems provides a fun way to learn special lessons about being thoughtful of others. My granson and I read these books to my 4th grade class and now my students want to read Piggy and Elephant books as the characters. The various print sizes encourages character voice and inflection. As a class, we discuss the special message in each story. I would highly recommend these books to people of all ages.

This book bundle was our first exposure to Elephant & Piggie. We purchased since they looked cute and were on special. I am so happy with this purchase. The stories are funny with simple illustrations that match the storyline. The scenarios are relatable. For example, one story is about Gerald being very sad and Piggie's efforts to cheer him up. My 4 yo is not yet reading, but enjoys looking at the books and telling her version of the story. Highly recommend.

My son who is in first grade LOVES Elephant and Piggie books. He borrows them from his school library every week so I thought he would like some of his own. This has a great selection of titles, some we haven't read before. My son thinks they are hilarious. The books are easy to read and the illustrations are great at capturing the characters feelings and reactions.I highly recomend this bundle it is a great deal, seprately they cost much more.
