Very useful, *reasonably* sturdy
I bought this because I wanted something to hold my iPad Mini directly in front of my exercise bike to help distract me from the fact I was spending one hour every other day on a bike going absolutely nowhere. Almost as depressing as spending an hour on the other days on the treadmill running my heart out – and going nowhere. At least the treadmill came with a reading shelf. For a while I was using a music sheet stand that did the job but wasn’t really aesthetically pleasing, and was rather large. Then I found this lovely device. My bike is set up quite close to a desk, which is handy because I didn’t want to attach this holder directly to the bike itself. When I reach the higher speeds the bike can wobble/move a little bit – and I mean the tiniest amount but enough to shake my iPad Mini and make it seem like I’m on a boat or in a moving car. I don’t want to be that person who gets motion sick on a stationary bike. So, the holder is attached to the desk. Fortunately the arm is just long enough to cover the distance between the desk and the top of the bike handles. Now that it’s in place, though – I’m not moving it again! Wow that arm is a tough thing to bend. I get it – it needs to be strong enough to hold the iPad Mini in place without drooping, but it should also be flexible enough to be able to move to your desired position without needing to be a bodybuilder to do it. Aside from the strength needed to bend the arm, it was super easy to assemble. I didn’t even look at the instructions. It came in 3 pieces and it was pretty obvious what went where.I have had no issues with the clamp attachment to the desk – it’s comfortably secure without being so tight as to damage to desk surface. I’ve also had no problems with wobbliness or movement, it feels very stable. I especially love the little circular ball thingamajig at the top end of the arm to enable my iPad Mini to be rotated 360 for portrait/landscape modes, or just tilted slightly if the sun is coming through the window at an awkward angle – that is very useful. In terms of compatibility, I’ve mentioned that I use the for my iPad Mini. I use a full wrap-around cover (i.e. it’s quite thick) with magnetic closure and while the clamp holding it in place is at its limit for “thickness of clampability” (I believe that’s the technical term) it’s still seems very secure and definitely not prone to falling out. Also tried it with my iPhone 6 Plus and regular iPad and had no problems there either. So, why only 4 stars? Well, really I’d like to say 4.5 stars, but that’s not an option. When I was trying to get the arm in just the right spot there was a sharp snapping sound. Of course I immediately stopped moving the arm and made sure I hadn’t broken it. This happened twice. There’re no obvious cracks or breaks in the arm, the clamp, or the tightener so I don’t think it’s damaged but the noise just didn’t fill me with confidence, especially given it’s made out of plastic. So the 4 (4.5) stars is for this, as well as how difficult it is to actually adjust the arm.

Broke with minimal use
This was so great...until it broke. I was tightening the grip and one of the plastic pieces holding the product to my nightstand snapped off and now it is unusable. I have only used it for a month...disappointed.

By far the best tablet holder I ever had
By far the best tablet holder I ever had.Super sturdy, very east to assemble, looks really nice.I do wish the clamp was a tiny bit bigger so I could put it on my large profile dining room table, but other then that it clamps on to everything else I need!!Planning to by more of these!!
